Animal Crossing: City Folk (街へいこうよ どうぶつの森)

Animal Crossing 2 annoncé posté par Nic007 le 21/05/2005:
http://www.jeuxpo.com/afficher_news-2907.html

Very murmured Animal Crossing 2 will not leave on GameCube. Takashi Tezuka confirmed at the time of E3 the exit of the play on next Revolution. It should be noted that a connectivity with version DS is with the program, and that one can probably be certain that this Animal Crossing 2 will be playable on line.

GDC 06: Animal Crossing Revolution: Design Philosophy
Series director Katsuya Eguchi illustrates the design philosophy of Wild World, and touches on Revolution development.

by Mark Bozon
http://revolution.ign.com/articles/698/698019p1.html

March 23, 2006 - While the major press conferences may be over here at Game Developers Conference 2006, that doesn't mean there isn't more to talk about. In an Animal Crossing lecture titled "Is That a Franchise in Your Pocket?" series director Katsuya Eguchi spoke his mind regarding the Animal Crossing franchise as a whole, as well as the limitations (and innovations) that result when moving a franchise from the console hardware over to handheld.

The majority of the lecture dealt with the necessary changes in Animal Crossing 64 (and Cube), as well as the obvious additions that resulted in a hardware change. However, during Eguchi's conclusion the director had a few words on the upcoming challenge of bringing the Wi-Fi-enabled DS version over to Revolution. While no major information was announced, the Nintendo philosophy is shown once again in action. Eguchi had the following to say:

"Much like the conversion from the console Animal Crossing onto DS, we are now exploring how to bring what we have developed in Wild World onto Revolution. This time it is about bringing the world we've set up on DS over to the console world of the Revolution."

The majority of Eguchi's lecture was about the focus on delivering the right software for the hardware, illustrating how popular games such as Nintendogs, Metroid Prime Hunters, Animal Crossing and Brain Training used the many aspects of DS each in their own way. The Revolution quote may not be much, but it is a look into the philosophy of design.

More on Animal Crossing Revolution as it develops.

製作人江口勝也透露:《動物之森》有望登陸革命!
來源:levelup 時間:2006-03-26 編輯:六段音速
http://www.levelup.cn/article/html/n...3/26160406.htm

Animal Crossing prepares on Revolution
http://www.jeux-france.com/news15186...evolution.html

The magazine Wired News had the occasion to discuss with Katsuya Eguchi, Producer of the series Animal Crossing, at the time of Game Developers Conference a few weeks ago in the United States. The person in charge speaks thus about the last shutter Animal Crossing: Wild World on Nintendo DS which was a true success in Japan, the title is besides currently with the signal of the sales of plays on consoles in France. Katsuya Eguchi confirms once again its project to develop new a opus ofCrossing Animal on Nintendo Revolution, 'an important community of fans appeared thanks in particular to the very good sales of Nintendo DS. For the version [ Crossing Animal ] on Nintendo DS, we were to make much changes in the series in order to effectively adapt the play compared to the functionalities of the machine. To create an Animal play Crossing on Nintendo Revolution which all the fans of the series can like, we must make sure that this shutter adapts perfectly to the console. That cannot be a simple bearing, as for the version DS which was not a bearing of the version on GameCube. We must make certain changes if we want to continue in this direction.'

Wired News : Animal Crossing is on the way for Revolution. Can you talk about features of the Revolution that you think are going to be good for the series ?

Katsuya Eguchi : Because the DS is selling so well, it's given us a large fan base. Look at the DS version -- we had to make a lot of changes in the series in order for it to suit the functionality of the system. In order to make [Animal Crossing Revolution] a game that we want to make and that the fans would be satisfied with, we'd have to make sure that it fits on the console. It can't be a direct port, just like the DS version wasn't a port of the GC version. We'd have to make changes if we were to move forward in that direction.

Wii Sports, Animal Crossing Wii and Connect24 Details
(Written by: Ben)
http://revo.ds-x2.com/index.php?id=112

In a recent interview with Wii Sports creator Katsuya Eguchi, he spills the beans on what we can expect in Animal Crossing Wii, Wii Sports and the Connect24 service.

Mr Eguchi, what was idea behind creating Wii Sports?
"Initially when I was told the features that would be included in the Wii, because of the motion sensor I thought that swinging is very natural. And when I was thinking about different applications for that swing I thought sport is something that everyone understands; everyone's picked up a racket at some point in their lives or swung a bat, so that's kind of how we came to use tennis, baseball and golf."

Will there be other sports featured in the game?
"Within the Wii Sports category there are action sports like tennis, baseball, golf and then we have motor sports, so you might see something like a jetski or a bike. There could be various applications within motor sports but they will all exist within the Wii Sports title.

"What's on the show floor is just kind of a sample. We don't know exactly what we'll have yet. There will probably be more action sports and motor sports."

Will the Wii Sports games be multiplayer?
"The baseball game that we have on the show floor is just a home run derby but there are also versions where one player is the pitcher and one is batting - both players using Wii Remotes. It's actually a lot of fun. I don't know if you've had chance to play it but there is a real battle between the pitcher and the batter because the pitcher could throw a fast ball and then on the next turn throw a slow ball, and throw the batter's timing off."

What can you tell us about a potential Animal Crossing game for Wii?
"Unfortunately there isn't a whole lot I can tell you right now but I can tell you that, because of the controller, you'll be chopping down trees by swinging your arm, you'll be digging holes by kind of making a digging motion at the ground, you'll be fishing just like you're holding a fishing rod.

"In addition, through WiiConnect24 even while a player isn't playing in their town, a friend could come visit them and leave them a letter or gift - so there's that aspect of the Wii that will definitely affect the game."

Can you give us any more examples of what WiiConnect24 will offer?
"If a player is playing a game where they have a score, it could be posted to a scoreboard showing all the rankings of people throughout the world. That might be one application. Unfortunately I can't really share any more than that because right now we're still very much in the planning stages.

"Also, you know the caricatures of Mr Iwata and Mr Miyamoto playing Wii Sports Tennis at the media briefing? Miyamoto-san has actually expressed a desire to allow people to create several such caricatures and send them out over WiiConnect24. That could be a possibility. Maybe if you have a member of your family that's particularly good at art, they might be able to pick up the Wii controller and create a caricature very simply. The images of Miyamoto-san and Iwata-san were also created very easily."

You're also working on StarFox DS. We were really impressed by the single-player game on the show floor. What will the online gameplay be like?
"It'll be similar to Mario Kart in that you can play online with friends and strangers, with four pilots in one match and everyone using an Arwing. So just think of Mario Kart as a guide to how StarFox will work."

As big fans of multiplayer Mario Kart, we can't wait to try it with StarFox! Mr Eguchi, thanks for your time.

Interview: Wii Sports
Nintendo's Katsuya Eguchi chats with us about making sports simple again on Wii. Plus, new Animal Crossing Wii details.

by Matt Casamassina
http://revolution.ign.com/articles/709/709218p1.html

May 18, 2006 - Nintendo came to the Electronics Entertainment Expo 2006 to show gamers how different its Wii console is from competitors. Perhaps the best demonstration of this fact came in the form of Wii Sports, a series of simplified sports offerings, from baseball to golf and tennis, that made it possible for any gamer - hardcore and inexperienced - to pick up and enjoy the experience from the very beginning. The Big N also used E3 2006 to spotlight its plans for the Wii-based Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and Wii24Connect services, and used the forthcoming Animal Crossing Wii as an example of how both might better its lineup of powerhouse titles.

Below, IGN Wii chats with Katsuya Eguchi, manager/producer of Software Development Group 2 at EAD, and the man in charge of both Wii Sports and Animal Crossing Wii.

IGN Wii: Give us an overview of Wii sports. What does it encapsulate?
Katsuya Eguchi: Initially, our goal was to create something very simple that anyone could just pick up and play, and because everyone knows sports we thought that would probably be the best setting. Because the controller has the features that it does, it can act as a tennis racket, a baseball bat, and a pitcher's arm. Rather than complicate things by adding professional athletes or really realistic graphics, our main goal was to have the player experience in a very intuitive way the feeling of being in the game. We believe that we have been able to achieve that with the Wii Sports games.

IGN Wii: We've seen Wii Sports Golf, Baseball and Tennis. But we've also seen Wii Sports Airplane. How does this fit it into the Wii Sports universe? Is that included in the package?
Katsuya Eguchi: Yes, that is also a game that my team created. It is included in the Wii Sports category. When Wii Sports does become an actual product, we're not sure if the Airplane demo will be included, but that is the current goal.

IGN Wii: Is there any chance that the Wii Sports Airplane demo could become Pilotwings?
Katsuya Eguchi: I think the possibility that it will become part of the Wii Sports series is greater than the possibility of it becoming a new Pilotwings.

IGN Wii: How are you going to sell Wii Sports? As a single game or as a package, and will this be sold at a reduced price or possibly included with the system as a bundle?
Katsuya Eguchi: The only thing I can tell you right now is that we're planning on selling Wii Sports as one package that has several games including Baseball, Golf and Tennis. Whether or not it'll be bundles, I can't tell you that right now. It hasn't been decided.

IGN Wii: Was your team also involved with the Duck Hunt-like shooter shown at your E3 2006 booth?
Katsuya Eguchi: Yes.

IGN Wii: Is that also considered part of the Wii Sports category or is it something separate?
Katsuya Eguchi: That was created to show the visitors on the E3 show floor how the pointer works. And whether or not that it'll actually become a product on its own is still to be decided.

IGN Wii: You showed a light gun attachment. Is this something Nintendo is planning to release and are you developing games for it?
Katsuya Eguchi: With regard to peripherals, it all depends upon the game. If the needs of the game require a peripheral then that is something Nintendo will supply. I can't say for sure right now if we will supply a light gun, but again, if a game comes out that requires it then we'll release one.

IGN Wii: We really like Wii Sports Tennis. In the game, you only control the swings of the tennis rackets. Are there any plans to also enable control for the movement of the characters themselves?
Katsuya Eguchi: Our goal with Tennis wasn't to create a game that was really, really challenging. We wanted to stay with a simple, pick-up-and-play idea. If we added the need for the player to run to the ball, that would add a level of complexity that we think would be an obstacle and defeat the purpose of our initial goal. So right now our main purpose with Tennis is to have people swing. Within the swing you can slice and lob and control how you can hit the ball, and that's about as complicated as we want to get with Tennis.

IGN Wii: Are there any plans to include an online mode for Wii Tennis where you could play against other gamers over Nintendo's Wi-Fi Connection service?
Katsuya Eguchi: Right now we aren't planning on including a Wi-Fi online play mode to Wii Sports Tennis, but we are planning on having, maybe through the WiiConnect24, a leader board that will be posted online. Maybe for a Home Run Derby or Most Wins in Tennis.

IGN Wii: How is work on Animal Crossing for Wii progressing and what can we expect from the final product?
Katsuya Eguchi: Right now we're currently considering our options in terms of what we can do with the various features of the controller and through WiiConnect24. With regard to the controller, basically it could become potentially your axe, your shovel and your fishing rod. You can imagine what can happen there. Again, we don't know if this will happen for sure because it's kind of a trial and error process. With regard to WiiConnect24, you could have someone visit your town even when you weren't actively playing and maybe leave you a letter or a gift. Also, through Wi-Fi Connection, players could play simultaneously.

IGN Wii: Is Animal Crossing for Wii in a state now where it's playable, or is it still in concept form?
Katsuya Eguchi: We're still just hammering out the concepts. It's not playable yet.

IGN Wii: Would you have any idea about when the game might debut for Wii?
Katsuya Eguchi: No, that's yet to be determined.

IGN Wii: Finally, tell us about Wii Sports Baseball.
Katsuya Eguchi: It's very simple. First, you're facing the pitcher and the pitcher will throw you three practice balls. After you're done with those, he'll throw you three more balls and you just try to hit as many homeruns as you can. If you're timing is just right, you'll hit a homerun. If not, you'll hit a foul or just miss the ball completely. There's also a versus mode where one player is the pitcher and the other player is the batter. Depending upon how fast he swings his arm, the pitcher can throw a fast ball or a slow ball. Depending on what pattern of buttons he's holding down, he can throw a fork ball, curve ball, a slider, and more.
