PS4版は「The Last of Us Remastered」と、単なる移植ではなくリマスター扱いになっており、内容もPS3版「The Last of Us」からアップグレードされている。具体的には、1080p（1,920×1,080ドット）の解像度に対応し、キャラクターが高解像度モデルに刷新され、PS3版でも定評が高かったライティングおよびシャドウイングに更なる磨きが掛けられる。ゲームプレイ面でも強化・調整が行なわれるとしている。そして先の2月にリリースされたばかりの「Left Behind」を含むこれまでに公開されたすべてのダウンロードコンテンツ（DLC）が同梱される。
