Elder Scrolls Online opting for subscription model over F2P

The Elder Scrolls Online will cost adventurous non-Dovahkiin $14.99/€12.99/£8.99 per month once it launches next year, ZeniMax Online general manager Matt Firor has told GameStar.

"Going with any other model meant that we would have to make sacrifices and changes we weren't willing to make," Firor said. "We'll talk about further discounts, etc. later, but for now, we are very happy to finally announce our model. It's very simple - you pay once per month after the first 30 days and the entire game is available to you."

Firor also said that folks can "expect some discounts if you buy multiple months at a time," and that gametime cards will also be available as a payment option. We're not super into gametime cards ourselves, but only because we had to go to a 7/11 to buy them, and invariably we'd end up buying Dr Pepper Slurpees and sacks of powdered donuts instead, and then our guild would kick us out.

以近年新品要SUB O既MMO，通常唔夠一年就會迫於無奈轉F2P，呢隻都應該走唔甩。


其實，GW2個MODEL個人認為係最適合不過，俾一次錢任玩，無一貫F2P O既P2W商城，亦無SUB O既煩惱，ANET依然賺到笑。

The Elder Scrolls Online officially unravels onto Windows PC and Mac on April 4, before scrolling to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sometime in June. The launch date represents the culmination of some six to seven years of development by Zenimax Online Studios, and the beginning of the first MMO in the nearly 20-years-old RPG franchise. As momentous as that all is, it's sadly 10 years too late for the even neater 4.4.4 - it's a bit on the impossible side to have 14.14.14, but there we are.

Bethesda didn't accompany today's announcement with any further details on pricing. The publisher is shirking the growing trend of free-to-play MMOs by opting for the more traditional subscription model, with the monthly fee set to be $15 (€13/£9). TESO will come with 30 days of free play, but the price of the game itself has yet to be disclosed.

Bethesda announced a special collector's edition version of The Elder Scrolls Online, called the Imperial Edition. The $99.99 bundle includes a couple of physical goodies, such as a 12" Molag Bal statue, a 224-page Improved Emperor's Guide to Tamriel and a 21" x 26" map of Tamriel. That's in addition to its bonus digital content offerings, namely the ability to play an an Imperial in the game with a white Imperial horse, Rings of Mara content and a Mudcrab vanity pet.

Players can also forgo the tangible bonuses by picking up the digital Imperial Edition for $79.99, which includes the base game and extra digital content. Really, saving a couple bucks and keeping our Mudcrab friend by our side sounds just swell to us. An image promoting the Imperial Edition first appeared on Amazon's listing for Dishonored yesterday, and can be found after the break.

Will I be able to play with my friends that are playing on different platforms? The megaserver technology featured in The Elder Scrolls Online will allow PC (Windows OS) players and Mac players to play together. Xbox One players will play on a specific megaserver with other players using an Xbox One. PlayStation 4 players will have a specific megaserver dedicated to only those players using a PS4.

PC/MAC, Xbox1, ps4 會各自一個SERVER

但係唔知俾一個月費個ACCOUNT可唔可以係唔同PLATFORM玩

所以NDA係應該， 好多人就係睇完D早期流出片段，連點玩都未知就係度死踩爛踩，係第二個forum見到有人話啊邊個話隻game好垃圾，個盾完全冇用，真係o咗


做番ES嘅玩法又俾人鬧mmorpg咁樣做唔得，融入MMO嘅元素又比某啲人話同skyrim單機無規矩既自由玩法冇得比 ，又話應該free to play
不如話隻game嘅誕生就係原罪啦

玩過beta廿個鐘，隻game真係做到連玩法都似番the elderscroll (感受到有個系列嘅靈魂
Dungeons同戰場，Lv唔算低
MMO黎講算係第一隻新世代MMO，感覺唔錯

當係單機RPG ge話比多幾陪開發 budget都唔得掂

你呢個問題好難客觀地搭你

好似我e d鍾意熱鬧嘅就開心到買多部iMac放係隔離比條女同D friend上嚟排排坐一齊玩，諗番起以前勁沉迷elderscroll: oblivion ,我哋一路玩一路覺得點解咁似everquest，幾想佢唔係一隻自閉單機game ，ESO既出現就係我其中一個Dream come true ,

我就無論同身邊人玩定 in game looking for group 都happy，總之多人就得，好難代入你感覺去答你自己一個冇朋友玩 , 會唔會有心機玩落去

所以真係好睇你有幾鍾意呢個系列

佢既questing system 其實都已經好dynamic

同埋佢個crafting System好正 ，加上無auction house

我覺得整體都有Elder Scroll味道係入面
但係探險同發掘嘅感覺無單機咁大
因為會好多人堆係同一個地方做同一個動作
前面有咩陷阱同點打都已經知道晒...
