Release Date Note: (6/10/03) This seems most likely to be one of Fox's big summer releases for 2005, along with Star Wars Episode III.

Production Company: Cheyenne Enterprises (Man of War, The Whole Nine Yards 2; this is Bruce Willis' production company)

Cast: Bruce Willis (John McClane); other cast not announced yet.

Director: Not hired yet (10/11/02).

Screenwriter: Mark Bomback (Godsend)

Based Upon: If this film is made, it would of course be the fourth in a series of films that started with Die Hard in 1988, which was followed in 1990 by Die Hard 2 and in 1995 by Die Hard: With a Vengeance.

Tears of the Sun Note: (6/9/00) Bruce Willis told Playboy, in an August 1998 interview, that Die Hard 4 would be about John McClane and 3 other cops who end up in the Amazon, and have to make their way out with no guns, explosives, etc. Bruce was describing Tears of the Sun, but Variety has reported that it is no longer being developed as Die Hard 4, but is instead being rewritten by Jeff King (cowriter of Blood and Chocolate) to be its own film, separate from this franchise (and not necessarily starring Willis). (7/19/02) They appear to be from completely separate scripts, but with similar concepts, but Army Archerd of "Variety" reports that the title of Willis' latest action movie has been changed from "Hostile Rescue" to... Tears of the Sun. (10/11/02) According to "The Hollywood Reporter", the revitalization of this project formerly believed dead has something to do with the title of that movie, which is now back to Man of War.

Premise: (6/10/03) There is currently no word about what this movie might be about, except that it will follow another adventure featuring New York cop John McClane (Willis).

Filming: (6/10/03) According to Bruce Willis, while talking to USA Today, production is scheduled to start sometime in 2004.
