SAUSALITO, CA, Dec 20, 2007 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- Red Mile Entertainment, Inc. (OTCBB: RDML) announced today that it has entered into an agreement to license the Unreal Engine 3 from Epic Games, Inc. for use in its upcoming Sin City video game.

《罪惡之城》遊戲將會運用虛幻引擎III

Red Mile公司近日表示已經獲得了Epic公司的虛幻引擎III的認證,並將用在《罪惡之城》的遊戲製作中。遊戲將根據2005年的漫畫改編電影《罪惡之城》製作。目前利用虛幻引擎III的遊戲已經有不少,《生化奇兵》、《質量效應》等都得到了玩家的一致認可。

「虛幻引擎是目前市場上最先進的一套製作引擎,並且和《罪惡之城》的風格非常貼近。」Red Mile公司的首席運營官表示,「這套引擎為很多優秀的遊戲提供了基礎,我們希望幫助我們的開發團隊創造世界級產品。」

New Sin City Game 'Every Other Year'?
Studio president wants bright future for dark franchise.

Since its announcement almost a year ago, we simply haven't heard much about the upcoming Sin City game from Red Mile Entertainment. Today that streak of silence ended via an article from the Hollywood Reporter confirming several as-of-yet unknown facts about the game.

Red Mile Entertainment president Glenn Wong started off right away with a surprise: the Sin City license his studio holds is for the Sin City graphic novels, not for the Sin City movie. In practical terms, that means several important things. The game will not be using the likeness or voices of any of the actors from the films. It also will be neither tied down nor helped out by a release coinciding with the upcoming second Sin City film, scheduled to hit theaters in 2009. Rather the game will release all on its own at the end of this year.

Three previously unmentioned platforms for the Sin City game are revealed in the article. No surprises here; the game will be coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii.

While little information was revealed, video game writer/designer Flint Dille did touch briefly on gameplay:


"All I can say is that it will be heavily story- and character-driven, with multiple crossing story lines, and it will contain the same kind of violence, the same kind of sexiness, the same kind of edginess that are the hallmark of the graphic novels. There will be a wide variety of things for the gamer to do, from fighting to shooting to driving. We're trying to deliver it all in a very stylized, very bold, very surprising way. What makes this so dangerous a project is that, quite frankly, the source material is so damn good. It sets a very high bar for us to hit."
Wong also confirmed that this is more or less the only game Red Mile is working on right now. Wong says they want to make an extremely high quality game, not only to live up to the aforementioned standard of the franchise, but also to make it a world Red Mile can return to... a lot. Says Wong:


We'd like to finish game No. 1 in a year and a half, and then turn out a sequel every other year after that. The beauty of Frank Miller's work is that it's so rich with so many characters that, once a gamer gets a real good taste of 'Sin City,' they're not going to say, 'OK, I've seen it all.' They're going to say, 'So when do I get more?' "
Another quick-sequel franchise? Let's hope for our sake and Frank Miller's that Wong is right about gamers wanting more.
