Next year's BioShock Infinite is right up there on our list of four must-have Move games for the future, and Irrational Games' Ken Levine seems pleased with how it's coming together.
In an interview on the PlayStation Blog, Levine reveals that the studio is itching to show off its progress so far:
We’ve got the Move controls working now back at the studio, certainly more so than we had when we announced it at E3, and really we’re just waiting for the opportunity to show that with a new piece of content. It’s working well but we still have a lot of polishing to do. Of all the motion controllers in the world, the Move is the one best suited to a first-person shooter, and a lot of PlayStation games have done a great job incorporating it. I will say that we’re discovering some great opportunities with the Skyline gameplay, but rather than show it to people with an old demo, I’d prefer to show it with a new piece of content.
Sadly Levine didn't say much about when we'll see more of Move in Columbia, but here's hoping it's not too long to wait.

Get a look at the man in brass



A new BioShock Infinite trailer is going to be unveiled at the Spike TV VGAs, and though we know absolutely nothing more than that, we do have a screenshot to both satiate our hunger for information, and to get us speculating.

Clearly, at some point, you're going to have to fight against a giant brass man who lives in the crowd, right? That has to be what this picture is showing. That, or the game will include time travel - why else would there be that giant clock tower behind the brass guy? Oh! Or we're going to get to wear awesome hats! Maybe that's why the guy in the image has an awesome bronze hat! Right?
Or... we don't know. Does anyone else have any ideas as to what this screenshot shows off? We're sure there's something other than a statue and some clock towers, right?

2K Games 今天宣布,由 Irrational Games 開發製作的《BioShock Infinite》在台發行名稱訂為《生化奇兵:無限之城》,該遊戲將收錄全新型態的遊戲方式-「1999模式」。這個模式專為多方面挑戰玩家而設計-需要玩家投入大量的心力與不斷地精進技巧。

◆ 「1999 模式」

  是一種遊戲方式,專為那些長久以來希望遊戲能更操玩家的遊戲狂而設計。它將收錄《生化奇兵(BioShock)》狂熱者在一般遊戲過程中未曾見過的特色與怪誕內容,無關難度等級。

  Irrational Games 創意總監 Ken Levine 表示,「面對現實吧。現在的遊戲比過往合理化、流暢化太多。我們希望給那些狂熱的老玩家一個溯本就源的機會。在『1999 模式』中,玩家得面對他們的遊戲決定所造成的永久後果。在《生化奇兵:無限之城》裡,玩家得承擔他們的行為所釀成的結果。『1999 模式』則讓玩家挑選所長,並專注在上頭。」

  「我們為什麼這樣做?」他接著說,「為了深入了解那些長久以來支持我們的死忠玩家,我們抱著不入虎穴焉得虎子的精神,在我們的網站上向這些玩家提出了一連串的問題,問他們是怎麼玩我們遊戲的。百分之 94.6 的人的答覆指出,升級選擇能增進他們的《生化奇兵》遊戲體驗。這真是個好消息。然而,有百分之 56.8 的人認為,若需做出永久性的決定,可讓遊戲變得更好玩。」

  除了那些永久性的決定外,「1999 模式」還需要玩家自主管理武器、威力和生命。就玩家重生這點,遊戲也提高了標準,如果玩家缺少能讓她或他起死回生的資源,玩家將會直接看到「遊戲結束」畫面。

  藉由「1999 模式」,Irrational 向所有射擊遊戲愛好者下了戰帖,看看他們是否有足夠的實力能重回往日時光並存活下來。

◆ 關於《生化奇兵:無限之城》

  由 Irrational Games 研發的《生化奇兵:無限之城》,在 2011 年 E3 展上拿下了超過 75 個編輯推薦大賞,包括 Game Critics Awards 頒給的展上最佳遊戲。

  在這款第一人稱射擊遊戲中,玩家將扮演前任 Pinkerton 探員 Booker DeWitt,動身前往失落之城營救自孩提時代就被囚禁在那裡的 Elizabeth。他和 Elizabeth 發展出一段關係,他和她的結合帶來無比的能力,因而讓他們得以設法逃離即將從空中墜落的這座城市。DeWitt 必須學會在天際於高速下與敵人作戰,在室內與雲際展開戰鬥,並且駕馭各式新武器及能力所帶來的強大威力。

  研發中的《生化奇兵:無限之城》遊戲將會推出 Xbox 360、PlayStation 3 以及 Games for Windows 三種版本,目前尚未取得 ESRB 分級。

It's called 'the snowball effect.' One piece of information grows into something greater than it was ever meant to be. This effect can take hold even when the information is incorrect to begin with. This was the case when the PlayStation UK site claimed a special Move device was being released alongside the PS3 version of BioShock Infinite.

"My understanding of what happened with that was some marketing person at Sony said, 'Oh, I think there's a Move peripheral for this.' And they put it out there and we saw it and were just like, 'Uh. Really? We never heard of that before," Ken Levine told me last week.

Levine admits that errors like this happen "a lot."

The Art of BioShock Infinite, a compendium of concept art, character designs and production stills, will launch on February 27, the day after the game itself drops, MTV Multiplayer reports. The art book is published by Dark Horse, who is behind the Hyrule Historia and many other gaming-comics crossovers, such as the Valve and Mass Effect collections.

The Art of Bioshock Infinite will feature an introduction from franchise creator Ken Levine. Along with confirmed character designs for Booker, Elizabeth and Songbird, we expect to see a few sketches of the game's notable enemies as well. Amazon has the book available for pre-order, with a list price of $40 and a release date that doesn't yet match up with the official announcement.

Two BioShock Infinite leads leave Irrational for Microsoft

BioShock Infinite's AI lead, Don Norbury, and combat design director Clint Bundrick are now at Microsoft, Superannuation tweets. Norbury's new job at Microsoft is senior software development engineer, while Bundrick is senior designer, their LinkedIn profiles read.

Four Irrational employees left the studio in August. The most surprising departure was Nate Wells, who had been with Irrational for 13 years. Irrational Games founder Ken Levine said these employees were part of a normal turnover for a company of 200 employees, and they wanted to "spread their wings." Infinite producer Joseph Faulstick also left Irrational for Microsoft in May.

BioShock Infinite is set to drop in February, and the first trailer in four months is set to be revealed on October 21.

睇完Beasts of America段Trailer覺得真係正,但2K的GAME成日分拆內容出DLC好討厭…
而且印象中BioShock都唔會出GOTY版添…

睇個勢2013年春季出埋BioShock、GOW:J、蘿莉化LARA之後應該都可以安心等6月E3公佈XBOX 720了吧?
(應該重有隻GTA 5的…)

不過,都好叫有隻大作可以期待下。
