After this, there wasn’t much interest in playing old PlayStation games , Moore concludes, and continues with a smile, It’s mostly a message to the parents, assuring them that they didn’t throw their money out of the window buying games for their kids. Why do we need XNA? - XNA is obviously focused on the next generation of consoles. Expenses are constantly rising for developers, while consumers are expecting more and more. We reckon that about 70 percent of all games result in deficits. The XNA software will reverse this for the better, because it means that developers need not spend so much time making tools, and it gives them freedom to design good games instead, Moore says. Get ready, Sony - Think of these factors, and you’ll know that the game will be different this time. Microsoft and Sony will fight a deciding battle for the living-room supremacy and Nintendo will have to settle for the kids’ rooms. Then we can take over the kids at age 12, he states. The next generation is all about experiences - Consumers will seek new kinds of gaming experiences. The Eye Toy is a brilliant example of that, and one that even expands the demographic reach of games. Games often deter non-gamers, but the Eye Toy conquers this barrier. At Microsoft, we’re also looking at different forms of gameplay, the Xbox boss reveals, thus indicating that we might see some new interesting hardware along the lines of the EyeToy for the Xbox/Xbox 2. - But we’ve also learned other things. For instance, making a black console was enough to deter casual gamers, he adds, without telling us which colour the Xbox 2 will be... Peter Molyneux / Fable interview
We spoke to Peter Molyneux about the controversial freedom Fable offers gamers. Peter Molyneux (right) and Microsoft's J Allard. Peter Molyneux explored the concept of good and evil with Black & White, which was probably the first game that really let you choose exactly how you wanted to play it. In Fable he continues the good/evil concept, but to a much greater extent and at the same time the game offers you so much freedom that you can even commit adultery or enter a gay marriage. Considering how Haitians reacted to a single sentence in GTA: Vice City or how the German authorities react to every single drop of blood in a game, Fable looks bound to offend conservatives around the globe. We had the chance to talk to Peter Molyneux about that, as well about how he generally feels about Fable. Fable is a role-playing game, which will be published exclusively for the Xbox and it’s the latest game spawned by Peter Molyneux’s game design vision. He co-founded Bullfrog back in 1987 and his first published game was Populous in 1989. There are limits after all 'Because I'm bad, I'm bad-come on (Bad bad-really, really bad)' Naturally Fable isn’t entirely about being as amoral as you can be, it’s about becoming the greatest hero of all times. So even though you can do nasty things, the Fable team has decided to set limits. “In fact we have integrated a crime system, so if you try to kill a child, the system stops you”, Molyneux explains. “But people keep trying to circumvent it. It seems that the more you try to constrain people, the more they try to break the rules.” He explains that the protection against killing children works inside the towns, where you’ll encounter children. But that caused people to start venturing just outside of the city limits and then shooting the children with arrows… which probably says more about the testers than it does the game. It’s a question of realism Ranged combat can either be fought with auto-aim or manual aim. Headshots included. Despite the freedom and the border-probing nature of gamers, Mr Molyneux isn’t afraid that the game will cause reactions from conservative groups or religious communities. “There is no sexual content whatsoever, so there won’t be any problems in the US. I only think it could become a problem in Germany”, he says referring to the strict age ratings set by German authorities. So why not just eliminate the many controversial possibilities? Why not make life easy? The reason is simple in Mr. Molyneux’s mind: “My feeling towards censorship is that it equals less realism. We have several games in development where this is a big issue”, he reveals. After seeing the game being demonstrated by Peter Molyneux and playing Fable for a while myself, it’s clear to me that the game is filled to the brim with typical black, English humour. There’s a point in the game where you, as a 12-year old kid, surprise a couple kissing behind a barn. The man is married and offers you money so you won’t squeal to his wife. You can take the money, go to his wife and take money from her in exchange for the information! Spoiled kid? Earth Trolls are bad company. That is except if you don't mind getting huge chunks of earth thrown at you. When asked about how close he thinks that Fable comes, to his original vision for the game, he lights up in a smile. “Fable is the game that comes closest to my vision. At the moment we have reached a phase where the game only needs a little more tweaking. I would like the graphics to be even better, but this is really a spoiled kid talking here”. The famed developer has also changed the approach to how the fan base is handled. During the development of Black & White the hype spiralled out of control and fans got disgruntled when the game hit the streets, because they couldn’t do what they thought they’d be able to do. This is not going to happen again – neither with Fable or Black & White 2. “In the boards people reasoned. ‘If you can do this, you must also be able to do that’ and so on. So people simply believed too much. So now we have people watching the boards in order to keep expectations in check”, Molyneux says.

其實我好憎X BOX同某部份支持者個態度
北美X BOX銷量係好過GC,不過真係好少少 但佢地講到好似高過GC幾條街咁 其實X BOX好多GAME(除左HALO)都賣得差過GC! 又唔計下X BOX呢樣野一直未又係洩緊錢!! 呢篇野又講到好似同PS2丁當碼頭咁 SIDE氣! 有料就玩埋手提機呀笨! |

我都覺得ngc同xbox暫時係不分上下~
當然, online方面xbox好好多, 但日本就ngc嬴番; 絕對是難分難解!! 至於北美就互有輸贏, 一時就xbox領先, 一時又ngc追番上黎, 直頭好似曼聯 (ngc) 同車仔 (xbo 爭第二咁~ 講真, 而家家用遊戲機市場又真係同英超勁似. ps2好似阿仙奴咁晨早搞掂, sony的marketing技巧就好比阿仙奴的享利一樣, 可以話係sony的一大利器; ngc就係曼聯般的傳統班霸不容忽視; xbox就唔駛講同車仔似到入型入格啦, 大家都玩無限金錢 我睇呢個形勢到下一代都唔會點變, 一樣有排鬥; 尤其經過今代三大廠商都各有領悟, 下一代必定更加小心部署. 所以有時真係唔明點解好多人都已經下晒判斷話下一代會點會點... 我唔係指有關廠商的發言人, 因為季初例牌隊隊都話有信心捧杯; 而係d評論員最少都等三部機有實物, 埋晒班先firm啦~

對於MS來講
手提 = smartphone / pocketPC (今後這類產品會配備非常強勁的3D/Multi-Media功能, 唔駛刻意出部好似GB/PSP的產品) 街機... MS大雞唔食細米, 呢範都係留番俾SEGA食.
