Top Spin 4 US release date announced, Move support confirmed

2K’s confirmed that it’ll release Top Spin 4 on March 15 in the US.

The date is mentioned on the game’s Facebook page. The publisher’s also confirmed that the 2K Czech-developed tennis title will support PlayStation Move.
No European date’s been announced yet, but it’s due tomorrow, according to EG.
The game was announced back in September of last year for PS3, 360 and Wii.

2K Sports announced today that Top Spin 4, the latest iteration of the Top Spin tennis simulation video game franchise, will feature professional tennis athletes Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams and Andre Agassi on its cover. This will mark the first time in a decade that Andre Agassi will be featured in an interactive entertainment experience. Top Spin 4 is planned for release on March 15, 2011 for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Wii™ system.

“Tennis has been in my life for as long as I can remember,” said Andre Agassi, former No. 1-ranked player in the world, winner of eight Grand Slam singles tournaments and 17 ATP Master Series tournaments. “I hope that with Top Spin 4 players can enjoy the sport as much as I have.”

In development at 2K Czech, Top Spin 4 brings the competitive action of tennis to life like never before with redesigned controls, jaw-dropping player models and enhanced TV-style presentation elements. Each of the title’s top athletes and legendary pros will be equipped with 2K Sports’ Signature Style animations, including player-specific swing styles and behavioral AI, custom celebrations and outfits.

“Top Spin 4 does a phenomenal job capturing the unique authenticity and highly competitive skills of these 25 world-class athletes,” said Jason Argent, vice president of marketing for 2K Sports. “When playing Top Spin 4, we wanted consumers to feel they are playing more than a tennis game, we wanted them to feel like they are in a world title prize fight.”

Top Spin Dev: Hardcore Didn't Want Move Support

Top Spin 4 is going to take some great strides forward for the tennis genre when it's released, but the inclusion of PlayStation Move support wasn't a step that the hardcore audience wanted according to Stephane Dupas, the president of 2K Czech.

When speaking to GamingUnion.net, Dupas said: "Well, we've had mixed feedback [about supporting PlayStation Move]. When we went to the hardcore audience, they were very worried about the motion controller. They almost didn't want us to implement it because they said 'I want to have buttons, I want something more reliable'. So, they were a bit worried."

Ultimately, 2K Czech decided it would make the game more accessible and claim that it should be fair no matter what peripheral you use.

"When the motion controller came we were unsure if it was going to be precise enough to actually deliver the level of control we expect and we decided it was. I recommend you try playing a normal controller against a Move controller and you'll see it will be a fair match," continued Dupas.

Top Spin 4 is releasing on the 18th of March, 2011 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. However, the PS3 version is the only one that supports an extended peripheral - there's no Kinect or Wii MotionPlus support.

今集我覺得幾正,有玩開上集既一定唔會失望
- 個波飛得快左,timing企位好可以打到邊線/擲界,似番世界級比賽
- 失誤/unforced error出現頻率合理化左
- 發球局重要左,開到靚波既話3,4板就可以攞分,唔使下下都要差十零廿板
- 可以開直線Ace波, Hard 電腦都識開 (上集多數都係角度Ace)
- 多左出名網球手用(xbox終於有Nadal...)不過選人畫面好似fix死左,即係冇DLC加新球員?
