FIFA 09: First details emerge

The first details have started to trickle in on EA Sports' FIFA 09 from US mag reports.

"Considerable gameplay improvements" are promised for the 2009 instalment, the most significant of which sounds like "increased responsiveness" from passing, dribbling and the physical pushing and shoving that occurs in a game.

Apparently thanks to some excellent and refined animation work, FIFA 09 feels "much faster and more realistic" than previous iterations, and this has "a huge positive impact" on the quality of play.

According to US mag Gamepro, the ball-handler can adjust themselves from falling during a slide tackle "if their non weight-bearing leg is tackled", and goalkeepers can reach behind their bodies if they misjudge a shot on goal.

Team Captains may also cry like babies when a crucial cup penalty is royally scuffed - It all sounds so much more realistic.

As expected, the Be A Pro mode from the last game is in, allowing players to create their own player and gain experience by playing through a series of seasons.

There's more customisation in the ability to mod and create your own specific offensive and defensive play sets, by choosing between a variety of aggression levels and risk-taking. We'll have to wait and see how that one turns out.

Initial impressions of FIFA 09 are all very positive. We're getting the feeling that the relentless PES and FIFA slagging match is about to start all over again...

EA has made "250 key improvements" to the 2009 version of FIFA, including improved responsiveness and a revamped collision system, reveals the first-look preview in the latest GamesMaster mag.

Among the improvements in the new FIFA, which is due out in Autumn, are "improved responsiveness that allows for quicker release of the ball, greater urgency in the off-the-ball running, a new jostle system that takes into account the strength of the players when going shoulder to shoulder and subtle animations that enable players to take first-time shots."

That's four out of the 250 then. Another of the 09 edition's biggest changes is a completely revamped collision system, which calculates speed, weight and power when the players collide, as each player will have their own individual strength and power stats.

This time around, the defender won't always win, and this could potentially change challenges completely.

Although GM notes the new system makes tumbles look far more realistic, it's not just a visual change. For example, if a tackle comes in and hits a player's standing leg there's a good chance he'll go down hard, taking him out of the game. But if the player is in mid-strike and gets clipped, he could lose his balance but continue running.

That's the current-gen version then. On the PS2 space, EA says it's focusing on tweaking rather than reinventing the game, although as with PS3 and 360 it's focused on making a more realistic collision system.

The Wii version meanwhile is set to feature multiple control methods, one said to play just like PES on Wii, another where passing is automatic and 'Footii' mode, an 8-aside, arcade-y Mii match.

比如「球員具備更積極的響應，使他們能更快地傳接球，無球隊員的跑動也更勤快；遊戲應用了新一代衝撞判定系統，發生身體接觸的球員其體格強度也將納入計算範圍，還輔以精細的動畫為玩家提供直觀感受。」

這套經徹底更新的衝撞判定系統將考慮對象的速度、體重，和肌肉力量，每一位球員都有各自的身體條件數據和力量等級。這樣一來，防守方不再穩操勝券，比賽局面將為之改觀。

這篇文章還提到新系統不僅遊戲畫面要真實得多，還有更多彰顯實力的細微之處：倘若防守球員衝撞對方的支撐腿，後者極有可能被摔得七葷八素從而退出比賽，但假如該球員只是受到一般的推撞，他也許只會踉蹌兩下但仍能帶球前進。

同意，我都係玩完 FIFA08 同 PS3 的 WE2008 之後覺得 WE 一路退步而 FIFA 就一路進步
今次出 FIFA09 一定會買，甚至乎會成為我的年度定番，至於 WE2009，我可能會買 PS2 ver，如果佢仲好似 WE 2008 咁

應該係多上新mode
Wii版08我都有玩
畫面係PS2 ge高解像度版
其實我幾buy wii果個體感玩法
未去到好似WE咁玩即時指令
不過加番個Manager mode就最好
