October 26, 2007 - Burnout Paradise now has a release date of Jan. 22 in North America, and a demo of the game will be available in December for both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, Electronic Arts has announced.
The open-ended racing game is being developed by EA Criterion and includes a new stunt mode and competitive online play.
"The Burnout series has always been about reinvention. Burnout Paradise does exactly that. This is the definitive Burnout experience because Paradise removes all restrictions, breaks all the rules and puts the control in your hands," said EA Criterion creative director Alex Ward. "We're taking risks with Paradise but we believe that every iteration of Burnout stands on its own and we feel Paradise is the best Burnout yet."
Earlier this year, EA unveiled a pre-order program for Burnout Paradise with GameStop. Early GameStop customers will receive an exclusive car, "Steel Wheels," which features armor-plating and a supercharged 6735cc V8.
