PS4 Exclusive The Last of Us: Part II Will Include “A Lot of New Tech;” “It’s Amazing”


Today, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Naughty Dog finally announced the new The Last of Us game, titled The Last of Us: Part II. The game will run on an updated version of Naughty Dog’s proprietary engine, but there is more.
During a panel at PlayStation Experience, Uncharted 4: The Lost Legacy Creative Director Shaun Escayg shared that the game will include “a lot of new tech” which is “pretty promising,” hinting to the possibility that the update to the engine used for Uncharted 4 is rather beefy. Escayg also mentioned that the game is “amazing,” and the folks at the studio are excited about it.
More information will certainly be shared later today, since there will be a panel about the game at 2:oo PM Pacific Time. Of course, we’ll keep you updated on what will be mentioned here on DualShockers.

The Last of Us: Part II Is About “Hate;” Players Will Play as Ellie


During a panel at PlayStation Experience in Anaheim, presented by Sony Interactive Entertainment, The Last of Us: Part II Creative Director Neil Druckmann shared a relevant detail.
Druckmann mentioned that if the first game was about the love between Joel and Ellie, the story of The Last of Us: Part II is the opposite. It’s about “hate,” and players will play as Ellie instead of playing as Joel like they did in the first game.
The game is set a few years after the first game, and Ellie will be nineteen years old. The title “Part II” means that the two games together create a larger story, and Druckmann promised that the team is going to do right by the fans.
