Director Tony Scott jumps to death

Hollywood filmmaker Tony Scott, who directed action hits such as "Top Gun" and "Crimson Tide," has jumped to his death from a bridge, according to officials in Los Angeles.
The County Coroner's Office in the city said Scott was seen parking his car on the Vincent Thomas Bridge and jumping into the water below. His body was later recovered from the harbour by police. Officials said his death was being investigated as a suicide.
