Resident Evil 4, Two Other Capcom Hits PC-Bound
Ubisoft will distribute RE4, Devil May Cry 3, and Onimusha 3 to keyboard and mouse users.

February 1, 2006 - After righteously smashing through gamer's boredom on the PlayStation 2 and GameCube, three of Capcom's hottest titles are arriving for PC. Ubisoft announced today that it will distribute Capcom's Resident Evil 4, Onimusha 3, and Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening Special Edition for Windows machines. The PC party begins this month with Onimusha 3.
Details on the PC versions are scant at the moment, with neither company announcing whether the games will be direct ports of the console originals, or just when each title will arrive.
Resident Evil 4, the latest in Capcom's long-running survival horror franchise, first arrived on GameCube early in 2005, going on to win critical adoration, a happy pile of awards, and countless satisfied gamers. The title debuted on PlayStation 2 in October, also to much rejoicing. RE4 reinvented the series control scheme and play mechanics, surprising even long-time fans with its satisfying -- and still genuinely scary -- action.
Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening offers more of the series' trademark gothic flavor and unrelenting action. The PC edition is based on the newly-released and impressively-revised Special Edition version, featuring a new playable character and other nips and tucks to the game.
Onimusha 3: Demon Siege adds French actor Jean Reno to its latest offering of ninjas-vs.-monsters action. Part 3 breaks from the pre-rendered 2D backgrounds of the first two games for fully-3D worlds composed with cinematic camera angles as it travels through time for its epic story.
Japanese publisher SourceNext had previously announced Onimusha 3 for release in Japan, and the game is already in stores there. There are no dates yet for the Japanese DMC3 or RE4 releases on PC, so there's no easy indicator as to how far along those PC ports are.
