早在去年11月，SouthPeak和Reality Pump就通過零售渠道對外透露說，有一款名為《雙重世界：致命誘惑（Two Worlds: The Temptation）》的X360、PC平台遊戲正在開發之中，只不過當時這款遊戲是被作為《雙重世界》原作資料片被公佈的。

現在看來，這款遊戲絕不僅僅是資料片那麼簡單，SouthPeak今天對外宣佈，《雙重世界：致命誘惑》實際上是原作的正統續作，在故事背景和劇情方面也將完全延續前作，續作將以臨近Oswaroh和Drak'ar沙漠的Easter Antaloor為舞台展開。

之前SouthPeak曾保證，《雙重世界：致命誘惑》將在劇情、環境和戰鬥系統方面進行全面改進，現在他們又透露，續作的旁白敘述和過場動畫也將被全面完善，且任務系統將與主線劇情更加貼近。更重要的是，遊戲的引擎被完全更換，因此從畫面細節到角色動作都會與之前有很大不同。

SouthPeak官方表示，有關本作的更多詳情將在不久後陸續公佈，感興趣的玩家請關注本站日後的相關報道。

After the announcement of Two Worlds II, we assumed -- erroneously, it turns out -- that developer Reality Pump had ditched the subtitle attached to the previously announced Two Worlds: The Temptation, and gone with a number. In reality, there was a lot more to it than that.

The short version, from publisher Zuxxez PR director Joerg Schindler: "The Temptation had been canceled due to technical outdating [sic]. We use a complete new engine for Two Worlds II."
Dirk Hassinger, who runs U.S. publisher TopWare, gave the full story:

"After Two Worlds the dev team started an add on," Hassinger wrote. "Later this was too huge and became a full product (Two Worlds: The Temptation), but in the last year as the development went forward, we found the technology outdated and started a new engine generation from the scratch. Now it is a real Two Worlds II with state-of-the-art technology. Of course some ideas and story partly developed in the last couple of years, which could have been a part of Two Worlds: The Temptation (PC/360) and Revelation (PS3), will be used for 2WII, but it is for sure a different title and not a simple rename."

Well, there you have it. Is it weird we want to play it even more now?
