　MicrosoftのXbox360関連の最新情報が公開されるorigenxbox360.comで、謎のカウントダウンがスタートしました。

　パシフィックタイムの9/27の正午頃に、カウントダウンがスタートしていたそうですが、何が発表されるかはもちろん謎。ウサギの意味は何を意味するのか？

　Bungieが近々何やら発表するという噂がありますし、来年6月にも発売されると噂があるXbox360「Halo3」の発表があるのでしょうか？

[UPDATE] Earlier this morning, origenxbox360.com went live, and while visitors to the site are still greeted by the now familiar tree, they must now select their country's flag before the site's mystery is explained. The only problem is that all the flags on the tree are European. As it turns out, the Origen site is nothing more than a promotional tool for a Europe-only contest, the two grand prize winners of which will be flown to a US Xbox 360 launch event. To enter the contest, visitors submit their e-mail address, answer three true-or-false questions, and answer a tie-breaker question. The contest is open until October 10, and the winners' trip will take place in November.

One of the oldest tricks in the big book of advertising is the subtle art of acquiring hype. The ilovebees.com campaign generated enough buzz and interest to have sleuths decrypt garbled clues that eventually yielded the date and location of special Halo 2 events, just days before the game's launch. The Ourcolony.net viral campaign slowly leaked information about the Xbox 360, if gamers took the correct steps to solve simple puzzles.

Now Microsoft's latest Web-based adver-teasement is origenxbox360.com, which has a running countdown that ends September 27 at noon, Pacific Standard Time. The simple site shows a tree growing out of a hole and bearing fruit, along with some green silhouettes of rabbits. Web detectives dissected the site and found hidden Latin phrases, concocted interesting theories that hearkened back to Alice in Wonderland, and even referenced The Good Book and Halo 3.

Today, Microsoft has finally spoken openly about the Web site and has confirmed that tomorrow the "race for entry into Origen starts." A vague statement from Microsoft describes Origen as "the debut of next generation gaming. A real place dedicated to gaming pleasures. A place to play Xbox 360 before anyone else. A place to play all the Xbox 360 launch titles. A place to take on other gamers." It's not much to go on, but it's enough to debunk theories about its being a Halo 3 announcement.

October 4, 2005 - Robbie Bach, President of Microsoft's Xbox entertainment and devices division, indicated that earlier comments made by Bill Gates that Halo 3 would be available to counter the release of Sony's PlayStation 3 next-generation gaming console were "philosophical" and not to be taken as a literal pledge, according to an interview at InfoWorld.com.

In response to a question regarding comments made in Time Magazine by Bill Gates earlier this year that Halo 3 would be released in time to blunt the launch of the PS3, Bach indicated that his boss was using the next Halo game as a metaphor for the upcoming Xbox 360 titles. According to Bach, "Philosophically, the point Bill was trying to make is that we're not just going to ship and not have great stuff coming up. We don't know when Sony will ship PS3. They've said spring ... What we do know is that the way our portfolio lines up we're going to have great exclusive content. Halo is something we'll ship when it's ready."

In the same interview, Bach revealed that the decision to make the Xbox 360's hard disk drive optional was due to concerns about price sensitivity in the European market. According to Bach, "It's particularly important in Europe where parts of Europe are very price sensitive and the channels where games consoles are sold are predominantly mass merchants which again are very price sensitive... One size doesn't fit all."

Halo 3の完成度は44％？ (C&VG)
　ネット上の噂によると、すでにHalo 3の開発は進んでいて、完成度は44％だそうです。
　噂では画像の初公開が今月中にもあるのではないかとのこと。

　またHalo 1とHalo 2は、Xbox 360本体発売初日からXbox 360で動作するようです。

11:22 Reports from the latest Microsoft press tour in the US are suggesting that Halos 1 & 2 will be among the first original Xbox titles to be fully playable on the Xbox 360 when it launches this festive season.
Hm, so you might categorise this news broadly along the lines of 'bear also defecates in woods', in that two of the most popular Xbox titles ever will be the first confirmed backwards compatibles. However the timing is certainly a new development and it'll add another degree of momentum to the Xbox 360's launch period. Nice to know that the Xbox icon will be playable on the next-gen console from day one too.

As to the much anticipated arrival of Halo 3, well not much of an official whisper on that since Peter Moore's recent and rather enigmatic pronouncement that, "the boys are busy".
However we do know it's heading direct to Xbox 360 and our long range radar forecast is currently expecting a debut around about spring 2006.

Most interesting are the latest - though we have to say completely unconfirmed whispers - currently running around the web, which claim to be from an inside developer source and suggest that Halo 3 is apparently 44% done, and that we will see first screens and art before the end of this month.

Let's just hope those final rumours are right but we won't be betting the farm on it.

因為如果XBOX360個XBOX模擬器, 完成度係高的話, 就會公佈Day 1會即時有一大堆XBOX遊戲玩得返, 依家就只係有Halo 1 & 2, 所以我估極有可能好多遊戲都要case by case咁搞好d某部份"唔聽話"o既program segment, 咁個成本就一定...

所以我先會根據依個消息而有咁o既推論:
成本太高+無咩大需求 = 唔會有模擬/好遲好遲先會整俾你

nVidia->ATI當然有大問題. 而且hardware 越遲finalize. 即係video 果part 的module 就會越遲完成.

日前，微軟總裁比爾·蓋茨在接受Engadget採訪中談及了Xbox 360大作《光環 3》的發售相關信息。

在被問到《光環 3》是否會像比爾·蓋茨之前所說的那樣，將會在索尼次世代主機PS3 同時發售時，比爾·蓋茨表示《光環3》的發售日期將由其開發小組Bungie來決定。為了使《光環3》成為完成度很高的傑作，因此將會提供開發小組作必要的製作週期，並撤回了以前「《光環 3》將會在索尼次世代主機PS3 同時發售」的發言。

We’ve received news today from an industry insider who claims that Halo 3 is finished and sitting at the mastering plant, awaiting the word to go.

According to the source, the final artwork has been finished for disc, booklets and box art.

Our source has stated that one of Europe’s largest CD replicators is on standby, they’ve signed NDAs and are awaiting the green light from Bungie. According to our source the CD replicators have been given an approximate date to ensure that their pressing schedule is clear for the amount of units they’ll need to produce.

Responding to the question of why haven’t Microsoft and Bungie given it the green light for launch, our source is certain that the hold is a strategic move on Microsoft’s part. Although Halo 3 is ready, the delay is to time the launch for “maximum impact”

We’ve currently received few details regarding Halo 3, so it makes sense that Bungie will build up the hype surrounding the game before the launch is revealed.

While this is unconfirmed at going to press, this industry deep-throat was confident in the information presented to us.

據HEXUS得到的可靠消息，《光環3》已經開發完成，只等開發小組Bungie Studios一聲令下，即可上線生產。

　　據稱，《光環3》的各方面工作都已經完成，包括光盤、手冊和包裝盒等。歐洲的一家大型CD生產商也已做好準備，但由於NDA協議的限制，他們還在等待Bungie的最終「放行」。該生產商已經被告知了遊戲發佈的大致日期，以確定產量來配合遊戲的發佈。
