Niko Kranjcar returns but Ledley King and Roman Pavlyuchenko remain out of contention as we prepare to face Shamrock Rovers in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Croatian international Niko is back from a thigh injury and has travelled out to Dublin for our final Europa League group match.

However, Ledley is still out with the knee injury he sustained in training before the recent win against Bolton and Roman, who scored against Shamrock at the Lane, misses out with back trouble.

They join longer-term injured Michael Dawson and Tom Huddlestone on the sidelines.

Harry will rest a number of players but there is no doubting the strength of the team that is likely to step out at the Tallaght Stadium for tomorrow's 6pm kick-off.

"I was doing a little bit of work with them this morning and there's seven internationals in there," said Harry.

"Defoe is here, Gio Dos Santos, Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Kaboul, Pienaar, Niko, Sandro, they will all play. Danny Rose is an England Under-21 international.

"I've left five or six of the senior players behind - the likes of Modric, Parker, Adebayor - but we have a very good team."

Roman Pavlyuchenko tug of war kicks off between QPR and Spartak Moscow

The Russian side have admitted they’re keen on bringing the 29-year-old target man back to the club, and are prepared to rival QPR and Lokomotiv Moscow for his signature.

Spartak sold Pavlyuchenko to Spurs for £13.8m in 2008, but with the striker now alienated under Harry Redknapp, a move away from White Hart Lane in January is now almost a certainty.

Pavlyuchenko’s agent has already confirmed that Spurs offered the forward to QPR last week, while Lokomotiv have entered talks over an £8million move.

But with Euro 2012 on the horizon, Pavlyuchenko may jump at the chance of re-joining the club where he made his name in order to secure his place in the Russian national side.

Spartak boss Valery Karpin confirmed the club’s interest in the Spurs bench warmer, saying: ‘Pavlyuchenko is one of those players on our list of targets. We consider many and he is one of them.’

Corluka agent admits Spurs defender could make Roma move

Vedran Corluka could be heading to Roma in January, with his agent set to sit down with Tottenham and sort out his future in the coming days.

The Croatian defender has featured in just three Premier League matches this season, having lost his place in the Spurs side to Kyle Walker.

Mindful of the fact he could miss out on a place in the Croatia squad for Euro 2012, Corluka wants to move to a club where he is assured of a first-team place.
And Roma are ready to give the 25-year-old the chance to get his career back on track by taking him on loan in January with a view to a permanent move in the summer.

Corluka's agent Nikky Vuksan said: "Roma are one of the biggest clubs in Europe and I would accept him wearing their shirt. I hope to have a meeting with Tottenham soon so we can clarify his future."

Spurs beat Man United in race for Swedish playmaker

Tottenham are close to agreeing a €7.5 million deal for AZ Alkmaar midfielder Rasmus Elm, reports suggest.

Premier League rivals Manchester United have also been monitoring the 23-year-old’s situation but are set to lose out in the race for his signature as they were not preparing a move until 2012.

Manager Harry Redknapp was forced into action after being alerted to United’s interest, with Swedish newspaper Expressen claiming that Spurs have already agreed the transfer and Elm will move to White Hart Lane at the end of the season in a deal until 2015.

The young Swede has a good pedigree, already making 21 full international appearances, with former Sweden coach Lars Lagerback labelling him the most talented player the country has produced since Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Ledley King remains a doubt for Sunday’s clash against Sunderland at the Lane.

The defender damaged his knee in training on Friday, December 2 and has been sidelined since.

Harry Redknapp could have up to three central defenders missing with Younes Kaboul suspended after his red card at Stoke, Ledley a doubt and Michael Dawson still recovering from an Achilles problem.

Harry didn’t rule out a return for Ledley though. “He might come out (and train) tomorrow and give it a go again, we’ll see how he feels,” said the manager. “I wouldn’t be sure at the moment though.

“We’re not too bad overall,” added Harry. “Younes Kaboul is suspended, other than that, the team that played last week are all fit.

“We had one or two come through last night, Niko Kranjcar, Sandro, Steven Pienaar played 90 minutes, so that was great. They are all fit and ready to go."

"It's hard to explain the feeling when you're starting games, scoring, the team is winning and you're not playing in the next game. There's nothing more you can do as a footballer."

Defoe has started just six games this season but has returned six league goals, whilst also finding the back of the net three times in Spurs' Europa League campaign - a fact Defoe hopes Redknapp takes into consideration with his team selection for Sunday's visit of Sunderland.

"If you're playing well and scoring and, the most important thing, the team is winning, and you are not being picked again, it's difficult. What else am I supposed to do?” he added.

"It's well documented that I've been in the team, scored goals and then been taken out of the team. For whatever reason, I don't know.

"It's important that when you get a chance, you take it like I have always done.

"Like I've done this season, I took my chance two games running by scoring goals. That's it. That's all I can do.
