不過繼續賣 Yashica...
照計o個 Contax brand name 應該仍然值錢. 依單野我估仲有下文...
Kyoto, April 12 (Jiji Press)--Kyocera Corp. <6971> on Tuesday announced a decision to further scale back its camera business by stopping production of its "Contax" brand film cameras.
Shipments of Contax cameras will be terminated basically in September, company officials said. Meanwhile, shipments of the Contax 645 System model, being sold in overseas markets, will continue until December, they said.
The move follows the firm's decision last month to completely pull out of its digital camera business, whose profitability has been deteriorating due to stiff price competition.
The withdrawal from the Contax camera business comes as demand for film cameras has been slumping amid consumers' shift to digital cameras.
Aside from the Contax brand, Kyocera will continue manufacturing film cameras sold under the "Yashica" brand, which remain popular overseas, the officials said.
Kyocera obtained the rights to use the Yashica and Contax brands from Yashica Co. when it took over the optical equipment maker in 1983.
