Fulham have signed Japanese World Cup star Junichi Inamoto.

The midfielder joins the west London club on a one-year loan with a view to a permanent transfer.

Inamoto was on a loan deal with Arsenal, who chose to release him at he end of last season after just four appearances.

Inamoto told the Mirror: "I will go to Fulham where they will play me.

"I have always thought it would be difficult to make it in England. It is very physical, but I can cope."

His current club, Gamba Osaka, in Japan, would be looking for a ? million fee if the move became permanent.

Inamoto failed to make a Premiership appearance with Arsenal last season but scored in Japan's opening two World Cup
games.
