BioShock 2 revealed, Borderlands, Midnight Club: LA delayed
2K Marin developing follow-up to undersea adventure under Ken Levine's supervision; postapocalyptic and urban-auto action games pushed back to later in the year; 2K Boston working on new IP.

Along with better-than-expected-but-still-unprofitable earnings, Take-Two Interactive had both bad and good news to deliver to gamers today. First, the good: As had been rumored for months, 2K Marin is now officially developing a sequel to BioShock, the award-winning action adventure title from the studios formerly collectively known as Irrational Games.
Inventively titled BioShock 2, the game will be released during the fourth quarter of Take-Two's 2009 financial year. That means the game would arrive sometime between August 1 and October 31, 2009, on unspecified platforms. The first BioShock was released on August 25, 2007 for the Xbox 360 and PC, and has gone on to sell over 2 million copies worldwide.
Speaking with an analyst in a postearnings conference call, Take-Two Chairman Strauss Zelnick confirmed that Ken Levine, head of former Irrational studios 2K Boston and 2K Australia, would be involved with the project--as well as an all-new mystery game. "Ken is a terrific asset to the company, brilliant game designer," reassured Zelnick. He also reconfirmed Levine is working on "a new IP."
Now, the bad news: Borderlands, the ambitious open-world, postapocalyptic driving/shooting game from Gearbox Software, has been delayed. Originally slated for release during the August-October 2008 quarter, the game will now arrive sometime during Take-Two's FY '09--meaning it could conceivably arrive before the end of the 2008 calendar year on the PlayStation 3, 360, and PC.
According to a statement from Take-Two, the Borderland delay was "in order to allow additional development time for this highly anticipated game and provide a better balance in the release of Take-Two's triple-A titles."
Also postponed today was Midnight Club: Los Angeles, the forthcoming PS3 and 360 street racer from Rockstar San Diego. Now, instead of its previously scheduled "early 2008" release, the game will now arrive during the August-October quarter of this year.
"Midnight Club: Los Angeles was initially planned for release this spring," Take-Two CFO Lainie Goldstein said in a postearnings conference call. "We moved the title to the 4th quarter to leverage the retail strength leading to the key holiday selling season, and in order to provide some distance from the release of Grand Theft Auto IV."
Rockstar Games' GTAIV, easily Take-Two's biggest title of the year, is now slated for an April 29 release on the 360 and PS3. It had been first set for release in mid-October 2007, but was pushed back after multiconsole development proved more difficult than anticipated.

ゲームシステムやストーリー、そして何より独特の世界観を築き上げているBioshock。この続編となるBioshock 2が、2009年第3四半期のリリースに向けて制作中であることが正式アナウンスにより明らかになりました。今までは噂レベルの情報などが度々出てきていましたが、いずれも期待のみで終わっていました。
Bioshock 2は対応プラットフォームが不明であり、Take-Twoの会計年度にあたる2009年第3四半期(8月1日から10月31日の期間中)に発売が予定されているそうです。
Take-TwoのチェアマンであるStrauss Zelnick氏は、Ken Levine氏(旧Irrational studios出身の、2K Boston と 2K Australiaの代表者)がすべて新しいミステリーゲームの制作と関係していることも発表しています。Bioshockは2007年8月25日に発売されており、全世界で200万本以上のセールスを記録。今も売れ続けています。

また、悪いニュースもあります。Gearbox Softwareが開発を手掛けているBorderlandsが、当初の発売予定である2008年8月~10月の第3四半期から、2008年末へと延期が決まっています。延期の理由は「更なるクオリティアップのために開発時間を掛け、より良いバランスのゲームに仕上げるため」とのこと。この他にも、Midnight Club: Los Angelesが当初の2008年前半の発売予定から、2008年第3四半期へとこれまた延期となっています。こちらは「GTAIVの発売とある程度の時期を離す、スケジュール調整」が主な延期理由のようです。そのGTAIVですが、こちらは予定通り4月29日の発売日は変更が無いとのこと。5月前後にはLiberty Cityを暴れ回ることができそうですよ?

上個月,Take-Two在財政會議上不動聲色地透露了《生化奇兵2(BioShock 2)》正在開發中的消息,同時確認這個廣受讚譽的動作射擊遊戲的最新續作依然將由前作的製作人負責,由去年剛剛組建的2K Marin擔任開發。
儘管Take-Two官方並未正式公佈《生化奇兵2》的對應機種,但絕大部分人相信本作依然將延續前作的傳統在X360和PC上推出。而今天,來自業內的最新證據顯示,本作的開發商已經把另外兩台次世代主機,PS3和Wii納入了考慮範疇之內。
在2K Marin的官方網站上,兩則新公佈的招聘信息引起了業界的關注。兩個新公開招聘職位之一是程序員,技能要求中特別標明「有過次世代主機遊戲(PS3、X360、Wii)開發經驗者從優」;另外一個招聘職位是關卡設計師,且要求必須「有過PS3遊戲開發經驗」。
毫無疑問,2K Marin正在著手一項涉及PS3和Wii的遊戲開發項目,但其真實面目究竟為何?又是否與剛剛公開的《生化奇兵2》有關?由於2K Games到現在依然對此事保持沉默,因此事情的內幕還僅限於猜測階段。

最近幾個月業界新聞中出現頻率最高的詞彙當屬「裁員」二字……好在並不是每家公司都在炒員工的魷魚,至少2K波士頓工作室還在招人,因為他們眼下正在開發一款面向X360、PS3和PC的,以虛幻引擎為基礎的「3A級」多人聯機遊戲。
2K波士頓工作室的招聘職位是多人聯機遊戲首席技師和首席設計師,他們在招聘啟示中表示,作為《生化奇兵(BioShock)》系列的開發者,他們十分看好多人聯機遊戲的發展前景,而且對新作依然抱有巨大的期望和信心。
《生化奇兵》裡並沒有多人聯機的要素,不過續作就不一定了,雖然官方並沒有確認,但這款跨三大平台的「3A級」多人聯機遊戲指的應該就是去年公佈的《生化奇兵2:幻夢深海(BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams)》。

Kotaku得到消息說,初代《生化奇兵》中備受玩家們歡迎的BOSS級角色Big Daddy,將在續作《生化奇兵2》中經歷一次變身,而且是由男變女那種程度的大變身。
據悉,《生化奇兵2》中的Big Sisters將是初代中Big Daddy的女性版,從外貌上來看體態更苗條,而且外型更富機械感。
事實上有關Big Daddy變性的說法之前也受到過關注。上周2K Games旗下一個用來為《生化奇兵2》造勢的網站There'sSomethingInTheSea,放出了一張看起來很像是Big Daddy玩偶的照片(右圖,點擊放大),也就是最早在宣傳片中出現的那個被拎在成年版Little Sister手中的玩偶。但仔細觀察會發現,這個玩偶與初代中的Big Daddy存在些許差異。
上週末,這家網站又更新了另外一張照片。照片上有兩隻出現在沙灘上的形狀古怪的足印,一旁還有一隻成年人的鞋用來進行尺寸比對。另外,在照片的左上角還繫著一個意味不明的紅色蝴蝶結。
目前可以肯定的是,在即將召開的遊戲開發者會議2009(GDC,Game Developers Conference)上,將會有關於《生化奇兵2》的部分詳細情報公開,希望屆時我們能從官方口中得到更多有關Big Sisters的情報,以及她在遊戲中將發揮怎樣的作用。

Today, Take Two hosted a conference call to discuss its Q1 Fiscal 2009 financial results. During the call, the publisher confirmed that The BIGS 2, NBA 2K10 and NHL 2K10 will be released in the fall. But that was a release schedule everyone anticipated. The real news came when the publisher confirmed that BioShock 2, Borderlands, Mafia II, Red Dead Redemption, and the second episode for the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV will all arrive before Halloween.

- Epic boss battles and underwater gameplay. Much of Rapture is now flooded and you will need to don a diving suit to explore these areas as well as venture outside Rapture itself. An underwater boss fight was shown with a gigantic squid, which can cloak itself and use its massive tentacles to smash into Rapture and hurl debris. One of the concept artworks hinted at a boss battle with a mutated, spliced rhino in Rapture’s zoo.
Solving the whole Big Sister debate:

前作でプレイヤーを苦しめた強敵が、続編では主人公になってしまうとは、なかなか斬新なアイデアですよね。あの巨大なドリルで大暴れできる日が来るとは!しかし、あんなに強かったビッグダディも、さらに危険な存在だというビッグシスターの影におびえることになるかもしれません……。
尚、対応プラットフォームが未定だと先日2Kから発表された本作ですが、どうやらPC、Xbox 360、PS3の三つで無事発売されそうです。一部では、特定プラットフォームの時限付き独占が噂されており、メーカーからの正式な発表が待たれます。

• You’re a Big Daddy, and you get to use the drill and rivet gun. And you can use plasmids too. You can take little sisters from other Big Daddies and take them around Rapture to collect ADAM like you see happening in BioShock 1.
• The Big Daddy drill takes the place of the wrench. Can spin, but overheats so you can’t run it constantly. You can do the Big Daddy charging shoulder bash. You can heal your hacked turrets/camera bots. Incinerate upgrades let you throw fireballs and shoot a stream of fire. Cyclone trap can be hit with incinerate and become a flaming cyclone trap. Upgrade trees are more diverse to give you more unique options.
• It’s 10 years since the first game. The Big Sister returns to rapture, bringing back the Little Sisters with her. You play as the original Big Daddy. You can use the drill, the rivet gun, and you can still use plasmids.
• Little Sisters have been given a new look to be less creepy, as you’re seeing them from the eyes of their protectors. You don’t get your own Little Sister from the start, as you’re a renegade Big Daddy. So you fight other Big Daddies to get your own sister. You can still harvest them, but the other option has been changed to “adopt” instead of rescue. If you adopt the sister, she’ll ride on your shoulders, and you can go around Rapture looking for corpses for her to collect ADAM from. When your sister goes to harvest ADAM, a wave of Splicers will come and start attacking to try and harvest her. You have to hold them off until she finishes harvesting. You gain some ADAM from this, but not enough to tide you through the game. You can permanently rescue them, but the article doesn’t say how.
• The Big Sister is one of the surviving little sisters from the last game. She’s the new ruler of Rapture, and is the main antagonist of the game. With each Big Daddy you kill, the game lets you know how close you are to incurring the wrath of the Big Sister. When you do, the little sister you’re with will sing a song about how the Big Sister doesn’t want you playing with her, then you get jumped.
• Other info: Vita Chambers return, there is confirmed multiplayer(no details), audio logs are back, and Fontaine Futuristics is a level in the game.

In a strange twist, 2K Games is insisting people no longer use Bioshock 2’s subtitle “Sea of Dreams” when refering to the sequel. Primotech (http://www.primotechnology.com/2009/03/19/2k-games-its-just-bioshock-2/) spoke to 2K games and what did they say?
“You won’t be seeing ‘Sea of Dreams’ moving forward, just ‘BioShock 2.’”
I liked the “Sea of Dreams” subtitle, ah well.

但由於有adam和eve這種兩力量,導致人們又為了力量而爭得你死我活,不過這些只是表面。接著發生權力鬥爭事件,城裡兩大重要人物Fontaine和Ryan(rapture創立人,地上的富商)開始明爭暗鬥。
之後到了1960年時,主角jack遇上Dr.Tenenbaum和Atlas,Atlas說Ryan殺了他的妻子,而Dr.Tenenbaum說Jack要對抗這裡的人,必需要得到adam的力量,而adam可以從little sister中取得。Ryan才知道自己是rapture中誕生,更是Ryan的兒子,是由Fontaine經過特殊技術令他在2年裡成為成人,然後送到世界外再回到rapture,目的是要他避過rapture的權力鬥爭。而主角被設定了一聽到"Would you kindly." 後就要聽從那個人所說的事情。當Ryan被主角殺了時,Atlas再次出現,原來他的真正身份是Fontaine,目的是藉著Altas的死來令Ryan現身,而Fontaine利用了主角便打算下殺令。這時女博士Dr.Tenenbaum和Little Sister一起救出主角,接著主角為了解救rapture而與變身成傳說中的"大爸爸",與魔王Fontaine決一死戰

小小補充:
建立RAPTURE的背景是遠離共產主義、資本主義及神權主義等等,Ryan及一些精英份子認為是罪大惡極的事情,而在城中Ryan重塑一個自給自足、各展所長的完美社理想會。
但是人性本身就不是完美的,爭權暴力就在不久發生。亦因為RAPTURE本身偏離人性,Fontaine 就以走私的方式填補這個落差謀私。走私的除了必然出現的武器外,還有酒,和最有意思的:聖經。這似乎意味著精英們最後都偷偷背叛了RAPTURE,需要宗教來解決心靈空虛。
另一樣十分有趣的是RAPTURE以烏托邦為目標,本身十分缺乏製造武器的材料,所以你細心看一看武器的設定…. 破片手榴彈是用罐頭湯的罐子以膠紙封好造的,槍枝改造就會用上鋼尺等等的日常物品。

我o岩o岩先爆第1集.
有難度校.
恐怖過Gears of War 1, 核突就唔係好核突. Bioshock主要係用場景氣份營造個恐怖感. 當然爆頭標血就梗有架喇 x)
無玩過fallout3或God of War 1, 不作評論.

個故事唔算恐怖,但BGM好夾個場景,夠氣氛和壓迫感
但又唔會嚇到你唔敢玩
爆頭, 暴力就冇Fallout3, GOW咁"精緻"啦x)

In a move that's not all too surprising, Take-Two has announced that BioShock 2 has been delayed until fiscal 2010. The game, which was originally scheduled for an early November release, is being delayed to "provide additional development time for the title." While Take-Two's next fiscal year begins in November, the lack of a specific timeframe for release suggests this delay will be quite significant. Update: Take-Two clarified at its press conference that BioShock 2 is now planned for release in the "first half" of 2010.
Perhaps the late addition of yet another developer to BioShock 2 should have acted as an early indicator of the delay. Take-Two's Chairman Strauss Zelnick publicly apologized about the setback in a press release: "We recognize that our revised outlook for the balance of fiscal year 2009, due to both internal and external factors, is a disappointment. That said, we concluded that moving the release of BioShock 2 into fiscal year 2010 was the right decision for the product."
Take-Two's investors are unlikely to respond to this news positively, considering the company's sparse presence this holiday season. With Take-Two's most anticipated titles -- Mafia II, Max Payne 3 and now BioShock 2 -- all appearing in fiscal 2010, the company will have little to rely on to bolster its current year results. Zelnick reiterated that "we remain confident in the long term potential for Take-Two's business, and our ability to capitalize on that potential through our exceptional creative talent and solid balance sheet."

Take Two has confirmed that BioShock 2 has been delayed to 2010, reports Shacknews. Take Two chairman Strauss Zelnick said the company "concluded that moving the release of BioShock 2 into fiscal year 2010 was the right decision for the product. We believe the result will be a more compelling consumer experience and a better performing product in the marketplace." CEO Ben Feder added that the decision wasn't easy, but they "felt that it was essential to invest the additional time to ensure that this title will deliver what its fans expect and deserve."
Technically speaking, the game's November 2009 release date was part of fiscal 2010 already. But given the language about shifting release dates and performing better in the marketplace, it seems likely that Take Two is avoiding the saturated holiday season and giving the development team a bit more time to polish the game. The new release window sits at the first half of 2010, which is still pretty wide open. We'll let you know when we hear something more specific.

Rapture-ready wine bottles washed up on beaches this morning for BioShock 2's heavily anticipated viral marketing event. Kotaku readers from all over the world sent in pics of what they found.
Paul S. in England writes that "40ish bottles" washed ashore on Brighton Beach sometime before 5:37 a.m. Netherlands reader Soulofaqua described the discovery at The Hague as "sort of disappointing" The posters found in the bottles didn't give up much about the new game.

我覺得同Dead Space差唔多
個故事唔算恐怖,但BGM好夾個場景,夠氣氛和壓迫感
但又唔會嚇到你唔敢玩

個人覺得只係開頭恐怖
一玩耐左只係會感覺到好似o係精神病院咁
比佢嚇到既只有開頭果關個"冷凍室"果度:cwm2:
