隨著亨利及雲佩斯的受傷，阿仙奴在過去的球季下半部份大都以艾迪巴約及巴迪斯達出任前鋒，而事實上我們 看到的是，該兩名前鋒與中場球員在短傳入滲上未能相配合，而在把握能力上亦顯得不足，而另一方面艾利阿迪里在阿仙奴的日子相信已進入倒數階段。我說希望雲加收購一名前鋒殺手，重點在於殺手兩字，一個能把隊友一次又一次製造出來的機會轉化成入球的前鋒。單看阿仙奴現在的前鋒線，巴迪斯達將離隊，艾迪巴約今季每一場賽事都努力非常，但事實上他與阿仙奴中場的細緻組織顯得格格不入，但他仍然有進步空間。賓特拿今季替伯明翰射入十二球，但艾利阿迪里花了八年時間在阿仙奴仍然無法打入甲隊，且英超和英冠水準分別有多大？亨利八月便到三十歲，在阿仙奴三十過外的球員往往多病多痛。雲佩斯可能是令人寄望最大的一個，但一 個雲佩斯又是否足夠？球隊下半季明顯的問題是浪費機會，如果不希望重蹈覆轍，一個前鋒殺手是必然選擇。

Want-away West Ham midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker is ready to reject a move to Tottenham in the hope of attracting interest from Arsenal or Manchester United.


The 22-year-old submitted a transfer request last week after feeling that he was not a part of manager Alan Curbishley’s long-term plans.

Tottenham are understood to be keen on the player, valued at around ￡9 million by the Hammers but he appears to have targeted a move to a club playing in the Champions League.

"He is going and there is a lot of interest," Reo-Coker's adviser, Tony Finnigan said on Monday.

Arsenal were reportedly interested in Reo-Coker last summer but a move failed to materialise.

It remains to be seen whether Arsene Wenger would still be keen on the player, as he has the likes of Gilberto, Cesc Fabregas, Denilson and Abou Diaby competing for a place in central midfield.

Meanwhile, Sir Alex Ferguson is on the verge of signing Owen Hargreaves from Bayern Munich, and Reo-Coker is unlikely to be a prime target.

Levante have confirmed they are hoping to bring Arsenal youngster Carlos Vela to the Primera Liga next season.

The teenage Mexican striker has yet to make a first team appearance for The Gunners due to the fact he does not qualify for a work permit, and his ongoing Spanish adventure looks set to continue into a third season.

After joining Celta Vigo on loan for the second half of the 2005/2006 season, Vela spent last term with Salamanca in the Segunda Division and caught the eye with a number of promising performances.

The top scorer in the 2005 World Under 17 Championships in Peru contributed seven goals in 27 games for Salamanca and has been likened to Mexican legend Hugo Sanchez.

With his eligibility still a concern for Arsenal, Arsene Wenger is believed to be keen to see Vela accrue some top flight experience next season, and Levante are now hoping to confirm his arrival with the fortnight.

"Vela is a very interesting player, [but] the operation is still not closed," Levante sporting director Manuel Salvador told Mexican newspaper Diario de Yucatan.

"Everything depends on Arsenal.

"There are some problems, because he is a non-EU player. It has some disadvantages, but nothing else."

Vela joined Arsenal in November 2005 at the tender age of 16, for a reported fee of £2.5million, but the former Guadalajara striker has found his feet in European football almost exclusively in Spain.

The Mexican youth international impressed at Salamanca this season, and Vela insists the club will always hold a special place in his heart after helping to launch his career.

"The goodbye moved me so much," said Vela, after his final game for the club. "I am human, and just as you remember me playing here I will remember you as well.

"The best memory I can take is my first goal.

"With that I obtained the confidence necessary to improve and thanks to that there is the option for me to go to a first division team."

Henry evades Barca talk

Thierry Henry failed to quell speculation about his future during a trip to China.

Barcelona are being persistently linked with a move for Arsenal's captain and sporting director Txiki Beguiristain said recently that Henry was still in their thoughts.

Gunners chief Arsene Wenger said earlier in May that there was no way Henry would be sold, but this does not appear to have deterred Barca and the French star refused to put an end to the transfer talk on a trip to Asia.

"Since I started playing football there has been speculation about me going to a lot of clubs," said Henry. "So that will never, ever stop.

"But, as I said, for now I'm an Arsenal player. So there is nothing to add to it.

"For now I am an Arsenal player, so that's all I can tell you."

"I'm getting annoyed that we're finishing at the end of the top four now.

"Talking about resources, it's out of my hands, it's not what I do at the club," he said.

"The only thing I would like to say is that it has to happen from the pitch.

"There's a lot of stuff happened in the club recently, maybe it has to start again and fresher."

The 29-year-old Frenchman refused to discuss reports that he could soon be leaving for Barcelona but was less than passionate when talking about his commitment to the club he joined in 1999.

"Since I started playing football, there's been speculation about me going to a lot of clubs so that will never stop," Henry, who signed a new four-year deal with Arsenal last May, said

Barcelona offering Eto'o for Henry

Barcelona have placed an offer for Thierry Henry in exchange for Samuel Eto’'o, according to reports in Spain.

According to Spanish daily Marca, the Catalan giants are prepared to swap Samuel Eto’'o plus €€25 million (£17million) with Arsenal for Thierry Henry.

Txiki Beguiristain claimed that negotiations with the Arsenal officials about the deal are already underway.

The report also said that Arsène Wenger had already agreed to the deal.

Thierry Henry and Samuel Eto’'o have both been facing persistent speculation suggesting that both of the strikers will leave their respective clubs.

Eto'’o previously mentioned his liking for the English league and Henry, despite signing a long term deal with Arsenal, is continuously linked a move to the Spanish giants every summer.

Wenger however, has assured the fans that the French striker will not leave the Emirates stadium and Henry has also reiterated that his future lies with the Gunners.

Eto'’o is currently away on international duty therefore has not made any comments, and Barcelona have yet to confirm whether there is any substance in the report.

Barcelona are waiting for Thierry Henry to clarify whether he wants to move to Spain, as reports continue to link the striker with a summer exit from Arsenal.

Speculation has been rife that negotiations between the two clubs have been ongoing behind the scenes, and Spanish daily El Mundo Deportivo reported on Saturday that the Catalans have been locked in talks with Henry's agent, Jerome Anderson.

Henry's rather vague comments regarding his future in recent days have done little to quell talk that he could be ready to bring an end to his eight-year stay in North London.

According to El Mundo Deportivo, Barca officials Txiki Beguiristain and Ferran Soriano have offered Henry a three-year deal in order to tempt him to Camp Nou, meaning a transfer fee must now be agreed with the London club.

However, sporting director Beguiristain has conceded that the Liga giants are still waiting to learn whether Henry is ready to leave the English capital for a new challenge abroad.

"If he has the desire to play here, then we can see if it's going to happen or not," Beguiristain told the Sunday Express.

"Barcelona remains the same. It is the perfect place for players who want to come here. I always say the same thing - it's down to the players to decide.

"When players show this desire to play for this club, then we will sit down, talk and see if their arrival is beneficial to the squad as a whole."

阿仙奴計劃破壞利物浦對馬路達的出價，因為這位法國國腳轉會去晏菲路因為個人條款未能達成一致陷入停滯。

Robert Pires has urged Thierry Henry to move to Spain, while claiming Cesc Fabregas would not be out of place at Barcelona.

Barca are ready to pounce for Henry if he decides to quit Arsenal, and Pires thinks a move to the Camp Nou would be perfect for the French striker.

Henry's future continues to be speculated upon and European champions Milan are known admirers of the Arsenal captain as well.

Pires believes the time is right for Henry to depart Emirates Stadium and wants him to head for Spain, where Pires currently plies his trade for Villarreal.

The winger is also full of admiration for Arsenal midfielder Fabregas who has also been linked with a return to his homeland.

"I think Thierry Henry would be very happy at Barca," Pires said in the Daily Star. "I should not be saying this as Arsenal, their manager and their fans are all very good.

"But it would be best for him to make a change. Arsenal are at the end of a cycle. They have signed some good new players but they are still very young.

"Cesc Fabregas is young but he already knows how to play. He is going to be an absolute star.

"The quality of his passing is right out of the Barca school of doing things."
