The race for Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o is hotting up with AC Milan joining Liverpool and Arsenal in the hunt for the players signature.
Eto'o has found himself out of the Barcelona first team for the majority of the season, yet still has an impressive strike rate of 11 goals in just 17 appearances for the Spanish giants. A bid of around ￡25 million is likely to secure the Cameroon Internationals signature and Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that AC Milan are the latest club to be interested in the striker.
Arsenal are rumoured to be considering a swap deal with French striker Thierry Henry heading to the Nou Camp and Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is keen to add the Cameroon star to his squad as the big name striker to help take Liverpool to the next level and the Spanish boss will be backed by American billionaires Tom Hicks and George Gillett.
Milan have made an informal approach to Barcelona striker and look set to follow that up with a firm bid in the summer.

Fabregas: Not enough goals

Cesc Fabregas concedes a lack of goals from midfield has contributed to Arsenal's lack of success this season.
The Gunners have missed main strikers Thierry Henry and Robin van Persie for long spells this term and the team's results have suffered as a consequence.
Though only champions Manchester United have scored more goals than Arsenal in the Premiership, Fabregas accepts too many chances have not been taken.
The Spanish midfielder also feels that the replacement strikers should not bear the brunt of criticism for the inability to challenge for the title.
"We have played fantastic football, but the most important thing is goals," said Fabregas.
"I am not going to use the excuse we have been missing such a key player like Thierry Henry, or Robin van Persie, who were both in great form, because that is football.
"You have to find other solutions.
"We had them and it is not just about the strikers.
"The only midfielder who scored the goals he should have is Gilberto, because he scored 10.
"That is good, but we should have scored more goals from midfield as well.
"Hopefully we can improve on that next season."
BARCELONA president Joan Laporta last night claimed the Spanish giants have agreed a deal to sign Thierry Henry this summer.
Laporta let slip his bold claim while giving a speech in America at the Stanford University as he said: "I'm closing the signing of Henry."
And it was also claimed on Radio Catalunya that Laporta said an initial agreement had been reached with Arsenal for the striker and now it was down to personal terms.

Henry has endured a frustrating season at the Emirates due to injury.
The 29-year-old Frenchman has also clashed with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger over his fitness.
Meanwhile, Polish goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski yesterday completed his £3million move to Arsenal from Legia Warsaw.

Fabianski is a Polish international
Arsenal are on the verge of signing of Poland keeper Lukasz Fabianski from Legia Warsaw, according to reports.
Fabianski is believed to have had a medical at the club and his arrival is expected to be completed once contract negotiations have been finalised.
The understudy to Celtic's Artur Boruc in the Poland national team will join Jens Lehmann and Manuel Almunia in Arsenal's keeper ranks.
The Gunners have also been linked with Hearts keeper Craig Gordon.
Lehmann recently signed a one-year contract extension and Almunia is pushing the 37-year-old German for a first-team place.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said: "I see Jens as a top-class goalkeeper and Almunia as a top-class goalkeeper, so it will be a battle at some stage because Almunia has improved tremendously.
"Manuel is going up and Jens thinks he is still going up!
"Jens is trying every day to make life difficult for those who compete with him.
"That is very good because it makes those who are competing with him improve as well.
"He is a 100% professional. He gives something to the team as well in the dressing-room if it is needed."

Arsène Wenger believes Arsenal will see the best of William Gallas next season.
The centre back is coming to the end of a difficult campaign at Emirates Stadium following his arrival from Chelsea on deadline day in August. The main reason was a three-month spell on the sidelines in the middle of the season because of a thigh injury. However his manager believes Gallas is returning to his peak just as this term draws to a close.
“We'll see the best of him next year I feel,” said Wenger. “He had a lot of injuries and only now is he getting back to his best. For a while you could see he was not really comfortable. When he had come back from injury he played a little bit within himself. But in the last three or four games we have seen him coming back to his best.”

Wenger plans Real meeting

Arsene Wenger is planning to meet with Real Madrid to discuss the futures of Julio Baptista and Jose Antonio Reyes.
Arsenal took Baptista on a season-long loan last summer, with Reyes going in the opposite direction and heading back to his homeland.
Wenger has hinted at a possible stay for the Brazilian attacker, but admits that depends on what Real want to do with Reyes.
"That situation is not clear yet, I have to meet with Madrid and then we'll see where we go," Wenger told Sky Sports News.
"It's not what I would like at the moment that will be decided, it's linked with Reyes and we have to sit down together.
"I wouldn't like to come out on this case before we have cleared it with the players and it has been cleared with the two clubs."
The Gunners boss is open to the possibility of a return to North London for Reyes, who cost £10.5million in January 2004.
"Well I have nothing against that, but I cannot tell you more," Wenger said.
Wenger also updated the situations on youngsters Nicklas Bendtner and Fabrice Muamba.
The pair recently completed loan spells at Birmingham City, with Skysports.com revealing Muamba could be set for a permanent move to St Andrews.
Wenger added: "Bendtner is coming back into our squad, he is back from loan and Muamba might join Birmingham, it's in discussion."

Arsene Wenger has confirmed Arsenal will bring Poland goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski to Emirates Stadium in the summer.
Skysports.com confirmed earlier in the week that the 22-year-old goalkeeper was close to joining The Gunners after undergoing a medical in London.
The Legia Warsaw keeper came under Wenger's gaze some time ago and he has now moved to wrap up a deal for a player he seemingly views as the long-term successor to Jens Lehmann.
"That will be done," Wenger told the club's official website. "He will be our new goalkeeper.
"He will join us next year, be in the squad and compete for a position.
"He is one for the future. We have identified him as having all the qualities to challenge here and be one of the future great goalkeepers for Arsenal."
Fabianski will vie with Lehmann and Manuel Almunia for a place in Wenger's plans.

Even if they match their home victories over Liverpool and Manchester United in April though, a win for either Reading or Bolton will ensure that Harry Redknapp's side miss out on a top-seven finish.
For Arsenal, the incentive is to move above Liverpool and into third place, but Arsene Wenger's men must better The Reds' result against Charlton or overturn a goal difference deficit of two.
If Pompey are to achieve their European dream then they will have to do so without Sol Campbell as the defender will not face his former side due to an Achilles injury.
Dejan Stefanovic will also be absent due to a thigh problem, and Redknapp will also be without another former Gunner in Lauren (foot) as he looks to contain the joint-second highest scorers in the Premiership.
Left-sided star Matthew Taylor is rated as doubtful as a result of a damaged ankle, although with Richard Hughes (knee) but Pedro Mendes could be back to boost the midfield after missing two-and-a-half months with an ankle injury.

Thierry Henry (stomach and groin), Robin van Persie (metatarsal) and Theo Walcott (shoulder) remain long-term absentees but Emmanuel Adebayor is also rated as doubtful due to a groin problem.
As a result, Julio Baptista is likely to feature in what is his last chance to impress Wenger before the Frenchman decides whether to sign him on a permanent deal from Real Madrid.
Freddie Ljungberg has shaken off a hamstring problem, unlike Tomas Rosicky, whilst Jens Lehmann and Gilberto will both be rested after a long campaign.

Wenger admits frustration

Arsene Wenger has admitted that Arsenal's season has been a 'failure'.
The Gunners managed to reach the final of the Carling Cup without many of their star names but flattered to deceive in the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League and did not last the pace in the Premiership title race.
Wenger believes the future is bright for his young squad but concedes it has been a largely disappointing campaign.
"We are 22 points behind the leader, so I cannot say I did everything perfectly," he explained.
"I have to stand up first to say I am responsible for the fact that we did not fight for the championship.
"The only thing I can say is that I was more committed and worked harder than ever this year - but still I have to stand up for what I call a failure."
Asked if this campaign ranked as his worst, the Arsenal manager reflected: "If you analyse the season globally I would say yes - but as well there are some exceptional moments of quality.
"The players went with a convincing way in the Carling Cup final and we have shown some quality football which nobody else has shown. That tells you about the potential of the team."
Arsenal can snatch third place with victory over Portsmouth in their final game of the season, and Wenger feels it is also important to get a good result so that everyone at the club can look forward with confidence.
"It is more psychological than real because it does not change anything apart from the pride we want to feel about finishing above Liverpool," he said.
Wenger is currently looking to appoint a director of football at Arsenal following the departure of David Dein, but insists he will not be rushed into filling the vacancy.
Monaco general manager Henri Biancheri, assistant Lyon coach Remi Garde and Reading's Nicky Hammond are among those to have been linked with the position, which is being plugged at the moment by director Ken Friar.
Wenger said: "I am not closer to it. Now Ken Friar is helping me out and it will go on until July like that and then we will see.
"In the middle of the transfer market now it is very difficult to appoint somebody.
"I was thinking at first to do it as quickly as possible and then I started to get phone calls from everywhere.
"I met one or two good people who have the qualities to do it, but I want to meet more."
