路透倫敦 電---阿森納(阿仙奴)本賽季在球場上的表現令人失望，但是看起來他們至少還可以得到英國女王的支持。

根據太陽報周一的報導，81歲的伊麗莎白女王和已故的母親一樣，50年來一直是阿森納的球迷。

女王去年10月雖因背部問題無法參加阿森納新主場酋長國球場(Emirates Stadium)的揭幕儀式，但阿森納球員和隊員在2月獲邀參加白金漢宮 的一個招待會。

太陽報援引阿森納西班牙中場法布雷加斯(法比加斯)的話稱，女王對他說，她是阿森納的球迷。

「看起來，女王愛好足球，她對我們說她是一名阿森納球迷，」該報援引法布雷加斯的話寫道。「她顯然對我很了解，我們也交談了幾句。」

一名未透露姓名的皇室消息來源也在文中確認，女王是阿森納球迷，該報還以合成照片讓女王穿上阿森納球衣。

白金漢宮則沒有確認女王是否為阿森納的支持者。

　　拒絕立即對續約表態，雲格贏得了更多主動。《衛報》爆料，董事會繼續挽留主教練的工作，這一次，他們許諾雲格，即刻著手戴恩的繼任問題，而人選則由雲格定奪。

　　一天前推遲續約時，雲格就提到戴恩的繼任問題。他告訴董事會，從球隊管理的角度出發，此前戴恩經手的球員買賣和簽約工作，必須馬上找到接替者，因為這個環節堵塞，就無法保証球隊的有序管理。對此，希利伍德等人毫不含糊，在經過商討後，很快給了雲格承諾：戴恩的繼任現在起解決，人選方面主要考慮雲格的意見。

　　按照《衛報》目前掌握的資源，兩位雲格的同胞是最熱門的人選。首先是剛剛率里昂奪取法甲六連冠的霍利爾，他與雲格是圈內熟人，此前也不止一次透露想回到英超發展，他在利物浦的執教經歷將幫助雲格和阿仙奴幹好這份工作；另一位則是阿仙奴的死對頭熱刺的總監科木利，有趣的是，科木利在受聘熱刺前，就擔任阿仙奴在法國的首席球探，如果此番接受邀請，他算是與雲格再續前緣，不過作為阿內爾森的合格繼任，熱刺方面恐怕不會輕易把科木利放回阿仙奴去的。

Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann will stay with the Gunners for another year, according to tomorrow's edition of Bild.

The German shot stopper's future has been subject to much speculation this season after new contract talks had seemingly reached a stalemate, with Lehmann holding out for a two-year extension to his current deal, which expires in the summer.

Arsenal have a general rule of only offering older players one-year rolling contracts, but Lehmann now seems to have accepted that policy and is set to pen a one-year extension.

"I will play another year for Arsenal," the 37-year-old told the German tabloid. "This club has a great outlook. For me it's important to play Champions League."

The uncertainty surrounding Lehmann's future had attracted a number of clubs, including Villarreal and Hertha Berlin, but Lehmann's belief in Arsenal's youth policy and the current rich crop of young talent at the Emirates is thought to have made him stay.

Arsene Wenger admitted Arsenal's performance had been very up and down in the 3-1 victory over Fulham.

The Gunners started superbly but only had Julio Baptista's goal to show for their dominance at half-time.

A less impressive second half followed, but Arsenal managed to find two late goals after Simon Davies had equalised 12 minutes from time.

"We started well and created many chances but then slowly dropped our level and became average," Wenger told Sky Sports.

"We had many chances and couldn't finish the game off, then Fulham came back to 1-1 and that woke us up.

"When you are playing a team battling not to go down you are going to be in trouble if you don't get the second goal.

"They never gave up and when they came back we had to have a good reaction again."

Aked about his relationship with the Arsenal board, Wenger played down fears that David Dein's departure could impact on his future at the club.

"It is important to have good communication and good confidence from the board to make good decisions, I always had that since I arrived," he said.

"I had a very strong relationship with David, so if there is a new era without David we have to find the right balance, but the confidence of the board is always there."

In his programme notes for the game Wenger indicated that he would like an Englishman to fill the role vacated by Dein.

"I will be appointing a director of football to deal with a lot of the work that David did at the club, working with players and so on," he explained.

"At the moment I do not have anyone in mind for the position, there is no hurry to bring someone in, but I have to say I am thinking at the moment about employing someone from this country, so that they know more about the rules and regulations of the Premiership and English football.

"They are my first thoughts but I am still open-minded to it and nothing has been decided yet."

Nicklas Bendtner is confident he will break into the first team when he returns to Arsenal this summer.

The striker, who has been on a season-long loan at Birmingham this season, insists he has no fears about the competition for places at Emirates Stadium.

Despite also having the option of regular Premiership football next term with newly-promoted Birmingham, the Dane is desperate to prove his worth to Arsene Wenger.

"It's a fantastic fashion to finish at Birmingham, but I shall return to Arsenal," Bendtner told viasatsport.com.

"I will do everything to break into the first team. I feel myself that I am good enough to compete with the other strikers who are already there.

Patrick Vieira feels David Dein's departure from Arsenal could lead to Arsene Wenger leaving Emirates Stadium.

Dein left his post as vice-chairman of The Gunners last month after a row with the board, reportedly regarding the input of American billionaire Stan Kroenke.

His exit prompted speculation that Wenger could also be on his way due to the pair's close working relationship in North London.

And former Arsenal captain Vieira concedes the situation could eventually lead to his old manager vacating his own position.

"It was a big shock when I found out, I didn't really believe it," Vieira told Sky Sports News.

"At the start, Dein leaving Arsenal is really difficult to believe. I think he has been there quite a long time and just the work he has done for the club has been fantastic, so it's really difficult to understand how he left the club so quick."

When asked if Wenger would also leave, Vieira replied: "At the long term, maybe yes. I really believe they have been close together.

"They started the job together and I don't see Arsene finishing the job by himself, but you never know.

"I really believe that Arsenal still has some work to do at the club, so now he will finish by himself, or he will leave because David Dein left."

Emmanuel Adebayor has challenged his Arsenal team-mates to lay down a marker for next season by beating Chelsea on Sunday.

Chelsea must realistically win at Emirates Stadium to have any chance of catching Manchester United in the Premiership title race, but Adebayor insists it is a very big game for Arsenal as well.

The Togo international was involved in the brawl that marred Arsenal's Carling Cup final defeat to Chelsea in February, but he is adamant that Sunday's clash is about more than revenge.

Adebayor wants Arsenal to put on a good display in their final home game of the season, and boost confidence ahead of next term.

He said: "It is not about us taking revenge. We are just going to play the game to win for the fans and as a footballer you always want to win against a big team like Chelsea.

"There is a big rivalry between Chelsea and Arsenal and it is always a tough game on the pitch.

"We have already shown we are as good as Chelsea, because the way we play football is amazing.

Ashley Cole will return to Arsenal for the first time since transferring to Chelsea last summer but Adebayor hopes the response to him will not be too negative.

"I do not know what happened between Ashley and the club, I just know him as a footballer," he said.

"Ashley is a good player and a good person. When I first came to the club he helped me a lot.

"I do not know how the fans are going to treat him next week, but I hope the fans focus on us rather than him."

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has warned the Premiership sides left in the UEFA Champions League that being knocked out now could hit their league form.

The Gunners were knocked out of the European tournament at the last-16 stage earlier this season and then went on to win just once in five games.

League leaders Manchester United will defend a 3-2 semi-final lead against Milan and are on course for the treble, but elimination from the Champions League on Wednesday would need them to turn their spirits around quickly in time for Saturday's derby at Manchester City.

"The team that goes out of the Champions League now - whether it's Manchester United or Chelsea or Liverpool - they will have a little dip because it's like losing someone from your family," said Wenger.

"You need time to recover from that. The team who goes out will suffer in the championship. That is for sure."

Although Arsenal did not make it to the latter stages of the Champions League this term, goalkeeper Jens Lehmann insists they will be a front runner for the prize next year.

"Europe is important to me," he told the club's website.

"I said before there are clubs in Germany who might qualify for the Champions League but you can't win it with them.

"You have to have at least the prospect of being involved in a big decision at the end of next year. And we nearly were there before.

"We are among the teams who can win it along with the other English teams.

"Barcelona, Real Madrid might be stronger next year, AC Milan we have to see and Inter Milan are a good prospect as well. I think they are the teams who can actually win it."

Vieira: Arsenal future is bright

Patrick Vieira believes the future is bright for former club Arsenal.

The Internazionale midfielder admits he was shocked to learn of David Dein's departure but still feels there are good times ahead at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have enjoyed little success since Vieira left the club in 2005 but Arsene Wenger has blooded several promising youngsters.

And Vieira expects Arsenal to reap the benefits as those players learn with experience.

Speaking at a 'Feel Football' event in Milan, he said: "As a club, Arsenal are developing good young players and I feel the future is very, very bright for them."

Vieira added that he was committed to Inter and not likely to ever return to the Premiership.

"I don't see myself going back to England, I am getting old," said Vieira, 30.

"I am happy where I am and I will stay here for the end of my career."

Patrick Vieira believes Thierry Henry's future at Arsenal could be dependent on Arsene Wenger.

Henry is regularly linked with a move away from Emirates Stadium, despite the French front man's insistence that he has no plans to leave.

Following David Dein's exit from his vice-president role, Wenger's future with The Gunners has been cast into doubt with the pair having enjoyed an excellent working relationship.

Vieira has hinted at a possible departure for Henry, who has four years remaining on his deal he signed last summer, especially if Wenger departs Arsenal.

Henry's France international team-mate feels the 29-year-old striker must do "the best for himself" after almost eight years' service to the North London club.

"Thierry is in the position where he is asking himself what he wants to do and I think it's normal," Vieira said at a Ford 'Feel Football' event in Milan.

"He has been at Arsenal a long time working with Dein and Wenger and he would consider his future if these two people who built the current Arsenal were to leave the club.

"I think Thierry will try to get the best for himself but if he was to stay it would be great for the club."

Rosicky unsure on return

Arsenal's Tomas Rosicky is unsure if he will be fit to face Chelsea on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 1.

The Czech Republic international sat out last weekend's win over Fulham with a hamstring injury.

Rosicky is still struggling with the strain and is unsure if he can prove his fitness before Sunday's clash at Emirates Stadium.

"Personally, I hope I'll return soon," he told his personal website. "But if it is for Sunday's derby, I cannot say if I'll be fit.

"There are still a few days left in which I'll step up my training and then we will see if I am ready to return to action.

"For now I can only reveal that starting on Sunday is very uncertain. The good news is that I have started with running in the last few days.

"However, they have just been light trainings in which I've had no problems. Only a sharp session can show if I'm ready.

"Of course I'd like to play against Chelsea and not only because I would meet Petr Cech.

"Liverpool are one point ahead of us but we want to erase their lead with two games left."

Arsene Wenger expects Arsenal's fans to show respect to Ashley Cole.

England full-back Cole will return to North London for the first time since turning his back on Arsenal for Chelsea last summer.

Many Gunners fans are still smarting at the manner of Cole's exit and the left-back is sure to be in for a hot reception on Sunday.

Wenger can understand why emotions may be running high, but feels the club's fans will not cause Arsenal any embarrassment.

"I expect respect, no more," Wenger said on Sky Sports News. "I feel the most important thing is that the player when at your club does well and shows great spirit.

"He had differences with the club and decided to leave, but that does not wipe out all his performances and all he has done for the club and we respect that.

"I think they (fans) will respect that. I think they will respect what he has done for the club.

"There is maybe some bad feeling as you want your players to stay for their whole careers, and that may be shown, but overall there is respect for him."

Emmanuel Eboue believes next season will be Arsenal's year after a below-par campaign which will yield no silverware.

Arsenal are way off the pace in the Premiership and although the young Gunners reached the Carling Cup final, Chelsea came out on top at the Millennium Stadium.

But Eboue sees an extremely bright future ahead, and expects a fully-fit squad to be able to challenge on all fronts next term.

"We still have a young team, we are still learning - but we are doing so very quickly," the Ivory Coast defender said.

"We saw this season that we are now beating the big teams like Manchester United and Liverpool and drawing at Chelsea. We just lack a bit of consistency.

"I am confident in our squad, in the work we do with the coaches, and in the football we are playing.

"We want to win trophies for the club and our fans. We were close last year in the Champions League and this season in the Carling Cup. We learnt from those two defeats

"We are all looking forward to next season because we know it will be our year.

"Do not forget as well that we had lots of players injured this season. If we had our strongest team available throughout the season, it would have been different."

Midfielder Cesc Fabregas also hopes to see progress next season, despite a fantastic campaign for the 20-year-old.

"On a personal level, I am happy - but as football is about what the team achieve, I cannot be satisfied," said Fabregas.

"If the team has not achieved everything it could have achieved, that means I should have done more."

Unconfirmed: Arsenal sign new keeper

There are unconfirmed reports that Arsenal have signed Polish goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski from Legia Warsaw.

Fabianski was Poland's reserve goalkeeper during the 2006 World Cup finals.

The fee is being rumoured to be about €3 million.

As yet, reports are just trickling in from Polish news sources, so we'll provide an updates as soon as we get them.

New Polish keeper has his future outlined by Wenger

New Polish goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has had his future at Arsenal outlined by manager Arsène Wenger, who had been tracking the youngster for some time.

Polish sports daily Przeglad Sportowy reports that Fabianski was informed by Wenger that he would spend his first season as Arsenal's second choice goalkeeper, before taking on the number 1 jersey the following season.

Arsenal also have another Polish goalkeeper on their books - 17-year-old Wojciech Szczesny, who has been persuading Fabianski to come to North London and play at the Emirates Stadium.

Szczesny, who is an Academy player but trains with the first team once a week, has informed Przeglad Sportowy that Lukasz is a player for the future and is one of the reasons why Arsenal were reluctant to offer German goalkeeper Jens Lehmann more than a year on his current contract.
