It seems that Flagship Studios has been working on its debut title, Hellgate: London, for a long time. That's because it has, but the launch of the game is finally in sight, and Flagship is showing off even more and more of the game at this stage. So the company is showing off some of the never-before-seen character classes in the game. In this case, it's the blademaster and guardian classes of the Templar faction, futuristic knights who do battle with the demons that invade London in the game.

The Templar faction is one of the three factions in Hellgate: London, along with the Cabalist and Hunter factions. The Templars are warriors, the aforementioned future knight, while the Cabalists are magic users, and the Hunters are high-tech assassins. And for a long time, it was believed that those three factions would represent the three classes in the game. However, it turns out that each faction features different class types, so you can specialize in the type of character that you want to play. And to demonstrate, Flagship is using the blademaster and guardian.

The blademaster is an offensive specialist, with skills designed to get him in the middle of a fight quickly and, once there, unleash a huge amount of damage quickly to multiple opponents. The guardian is more of the traditional "tank" class, heavily armored and capable of absorbing lots of damage. When you create a Templar in the game, you'll be given a choice between the two up front, and Flagship hopes that by doing that, it'll avoid a lot of the frustration found in role-playing games. For instance, often in an RPG you'll create a character and select a lot of cool-sounding skills, but when you get halfway through the game you realize that you chose the wrong skills your preferred style of play.

Each class has its own unique skills and abilities, selected from the 240 or so in the game. The blademaster, for instance, has a lot of powerful attacks, such as the "Sword of Justice" which focuses all strength into one blow, but leaves the attacker temporarily vulnerable afterward. "Charge" boosts the blademasters speed, allowing him to close the distance with an enemy, or flee if the battle goes badly. The "Throw Sword Mastery" lets the swordmaster hurl his blade through the air to strike down a distant foe, and this is the main ranged attack for the class. In fact, blademasters aren't allowed heavy firearms, and the only gun they can use is a pistol.

On another topic, Flagship CEO Bill Roper also reiterated that the game will feature a single-player and multiplayer component, and that the multiplayer will consist of both a free service and some kind of premium content service for those who want more. Details, though, are still being ironed out. Flagship continues to work on the game, and Hellgate is nearing its beta test. However, if all goes well, we can expect Hellgate to ship sometime this summer.

　オンラインRPGの開祖「ディアブロ」のクリエイターが、「3Dディアブロ」を信条に作り上げた作品が「Hellgate:London」だ。

　時は近未来の2038年。突如魔界から出現した悪魔達によって征服されてしまったロンドンがステージとなる。荒廃したロンドン市内で人類は、生き延びるためにハイテクと宗教的な呪術を組み合わせた独特の兵器で悪魔達に立ち向かうこととなる。

　「Hellgate:London」の世界では、人類戦士達の職業は3つある。1つはテンプル騎士団員(Templar)。近接戦闘に長けた戦士軍団だ。2つ目は秘教術士(Cabalist)。魔術を得意とし、中距離戦に長ける。3つ目は狩猟者(Hunter)で、ハイテク武器を駆使した飛び道具をメインに扱うことから遠距離戦を得意とする。プレーヤーはこの3つのいずれかの党派に所属し、ロンドンの街に悪魔狩りに挑んでいくことになる。

　本作のユニークな点は、バトルフィールドとなるマップ、ダンジョンが毎回ランダム生成されるというところ。これこそが「ディアプロ」と共通する部分になる。ただし、自動生成されたとは思えない、まるで一流アーティストが時間を掛けて作り込んだような、自然な街並みや迷宮が生成されるのが凄い。

　Windows Vista環境下ではDirectX 10テクノロジーに対応した最新世代のグラフィックスを実現。Windows XP環境下での動作も可能。

When TheFeed is finished stealing bags of candy from little kids on Halloween, we're gonna curl up in our heavily armed compound with a sweet game of HellGate: London.

EA and Namco announced the October 31st release date for the eagerly awaited videogame and promised: "Hellgate: London represents the next leap in the evolution of the action RPG genre, combining the depth and addictive gameplay of traditional RPGs with the visceral action of first-person shooters."

「We wanted to hit the sweet-spot for release in terms of the development schedule and delivering the highest-quality game to our players,」 said Bill Roper, CEO of Flagship Studios in a release. 「Halloween was the perfect fit as it ensures that Hellgate: London will have an appropriate amount of beta testing, while also being an incredibly fun time to unleash the game.」

The game will also feature a robust online mode so, after you get your halloween candy stolen, you can team up with all your little friends and play through the entire story-driven campaign for free. If you want more Hellgate: London, Flagship is planning to offer a subscription service which will give players access to new quests, character classes, demons, items, and more.

diablo成team人散晒，一堆去佐anet，一堆去佐flagship。

玩過guildwars，感覺良好，所以都已經訂佐呢隻game。

diablo 3應該係唔會再有機會出，一隻WoW都已經賺到笑，無理由出diablo 3打自己，更何況，diablo team已經散佐，由其他team再出都未必可以保持到diablo 1同2 o既水準。

呢隻game online mode有三個付費模式，一種係免月費，一種係俾月費，一種係買斷月費。
免月費當然會比俾月費o既少o的o野玩，其中就係俾月費可以開公會但免月費o既就唔得，但俾唔俾月費都一樣可以online玩。

而家beta o既spec：
* OS: Windows XP with SP2 or Windows Vista
* Processor: 1 .8GHz or faster (2.4GHz for Vista)
* RAM: 1GB or more (2GB for Vista)

It's common knowledge that when the gates of Hell do, in fact, open, they'll part on the aptly prophetic day of October 31. As a precursor to Armageddon, Electronic Arts and Namco Bandai Games announced today that Flagship Studios' Hellgate: London has gone gold and will commence its North American retail invasion on October 31 for PCs. A European release will subsequently follow on November 2.

Hellgate: London is the first project from San Francisco-based Flagship Studios, which formed in 2003. The studio boasts an impressive pedigree of developers, including Bill Roper, David Brevik, and Max and Erich Schaefer, who earned their reputation at Blizzard North on such projects as the original Diablo, Starcraft, and Warcraft.

Often likened to a postapocalyptic Diablo, Hellgate: London melds fast-paced shooter action with role-playing game item collection and character development. After the game's initial $49.99 purchase (a $59.99 collector's edition will also be available), the game can be played through in both single-player and multiplayer modes, and can also be upgraded to an Elite subscription account at $9.95 a month for further massively multiplayer functionality. GameSpot's previous coverage has more on the M-for-Mature game.

A single-player demo for the game will be available tomorrow. In it, gamers can sample Hellgate's storyline, as well as take on a few side quests on the mean streets of London's Holborn Station as either the blademaster or the marksman.

隻Game買左就可以任玩，月費係類似VIP服務，
乜鬼24-7客戶服務創造人物空間背包位置果D野…

hellgate畫面係唔錯，有劇情同埋D裝備整得靚…
不過戰鬥方面無咩突出…好似Diablo咁互扑到無血就訓低…用係3D game到唔多夠high..
beta玩blade master到lv9, 斬果陣完全無斬中野果種feel x)
第一身視點都好似得marksman可以用?
隻game就係打果陣唔夠爽 :cwm9: 其他都唔錯 :ybdance:

啱啱玩完佐beta，連歐洲server都試埋，都算順(以我屋企龜速internet o黎講)，我玩gauardian同evoker，感覺唔錯，我估templar可能用唔到第一身，畫面跟視點同步會郁得太勁，由其blademaster，如果你有睇過movie應該知我講咩。

呢隻同一般orpg唔同o既，就係戰鬥係同fps一樣，玩marksman同cabalist就會好覺，拿雙槍或focus要right click或left click o黎用左手或右手武器，可以用第一身視點來瞄準等。

武器同裝甲都可以強化，武器有兩種，一種係暫時武器獨有o既加parts，就好似槍可以加magazine咁，加佐parts就無得換或overwrite，所以打到神裝就要搵神parts，唔係就會浪費(我試過唔小心加廢parts落legendary，好在係beta:hahaha: )，另外一種係upgrade，武器同裝甲都得，要用materials(由武器同裝甲拆出o黎)將佢upgrade，可以將神裝升級，都唔錯。希望正式版時唔會加入台版game常有o既乞兒設定--合成失敗爆裝.....

hellgate同guildwars基本上係風馬牛不相及，guildwars係玩pvp為主，hellgate係玩pve為主，系統同角色設定都有好大分別，基本上係兩類型o既orpg。

至於俾月費同唔俾月費o既分別如下：

Subscriber Features

Elite Mode

This is for those players that always feel a game is too easy. The demons are tougher, deal out more damage, move faster, travel in larger groups, and have more champions at the ready. Numerous tweaks to the overall balance and progression of the game make this an extremely challenging mode.

Hardcore

Hardcore mode takes away the various resurrection options. For the gamer that wants the ultimate test, try playing an Elite Hardcore character!

Themed Events and Items

Halloween (October 31 – November 4)

* Zombot - A special pet just for All Hallows’, this amalgam of meat and metal is sure to frighten and delight those players that are willing to put in the time to find all the necessary pieces in order to construct him.

* All Hallow’s Visage - A Unique Helm that has not only very special properties, but as well a look unlike any other helm in the game. Ghost Rider would be jealous!

* All Hallow’s Treats - Delicious and devious, these different candies do everything from temporarily boosting stats to temporarily altering the appearance of the devourer.

* All Hallows’ Quests - There is a pair of special quests available, including one that is repeatable for continuous fun.

* Nemo ~ Master of Festivities - This special NPC can first be found in Covent Garden Station to greet players and send them on their way with quests specifically crafted for the season.

Guild Creation

Buy purchasing a Guild Herald, a character can form a new guild. Characters can only be part of one guild at a time and should a Guild leader decide to abandon their post, they can pass leadership of the Guild to another subscribing guild member.

Extra Character Slots

While everyone gets 3 character slots, subscribers can have a maximum of 24 characters.

Larger Stash

Each character’s storage locker is doubled in size with an extra 6x8 section, making the hoarding of all sorts of goodies that much easier. Packrats rejoice!

好能你會覺得24個人物無必要，但呢隻game無re-spec，同diablo一樣，所以呢....
之前仲有講唔俾月費搭地鐵要排隊定連地鐵都無得搭，所有game o既 feature update都無份(例行update如bug fix或skill fix當然會有)，特別武裝用唔到等等。

成隻game o既設定同diablo基本上分別唔大，基本上可以當佢係3d版diablo外傳咁玩，訂佐隻collecter edition，halloween準備開波！！:good:

我就會買斷月費，唔駛煩，反正隻GAME啱口胃，而家要玩住GW halloween event吊癮先。

至於港版呢....我就唔會等啦，原汁原味始終好o的，仲有唔知幾時先出到，一陣好似星洲版咁玩自閉就咪搞喇。

我啱啱check email，先見到flagship有寄過封email俾我，但去佐junk mail到，所以我以為個申請係流o既。

個人感覺美國server比較順，但我人唔o係香港，未必可以作準。

買斷月費要有預訂game送o既beta code先得，買斷月費定價美金149.99，即係等於15個月o既月費。

Ongoing Content

Themed Events and Items

server唔係互通o既，美國還美國，歐洲還歐洲。

俾月費o既特權上面我有post啦。

class暫時有3個，每個class再細分兩個sub-class。

templar - melee class
- blademaster 用雙劍o既fighter
- gardian 用盾劍o既騎士

hunter - ranger class
- marksman 用雙槍
- engineer 可以造機械minions

cabalist - caster class
- summoner 可以召喚elementals同demons
- evoker 用魔法

o的新o野係而家同將來都會有，今日開始有halloween event，無俾月費o既無得玩。

另外，如果你交開月費，之後唔交玩免費online，所有你交月費o既特權同新o野都會全部lock晒無得玩。

之前有講過話24個character slots，唔交月費就會俾你用最新用過o個三個，less subscriber專有classes咁。

可以咁講，但唔會好似guildwars咁出expansion又要買，因為developer講明subscriber獨有o既關卡同class等等係唔會出expansion俾non-subscriber玩家，要玩就俾月費。
